How can I tell what movie is suitable for my kids' ages?

One of the best ways to see if a movie is suitable for your kids is to look at the Motion Picture Association of America's (MPAA) rating. While not all movies have them, many will be rated G, PG, PG-13, or R. Movies rated G are said to be okay for general audiences, while PG movies require some parental guidance but may be okay for your child. Those rated PG-13 are thought to be suitable for kids over 13, and R-rated movies are for adults 18 and older. If the movie doesn't have an MPAA rating, you may find that some parent groups have created their own ratings and posted them on their websites.

What are some Christmas movies my kids might enjoy?

You can't go wrong with Home Alone and Home Alone 2 if you're looking for a Christmas classic that you grew up watching and would like to introduce to your children. How can my kids watch DVDs without a DVD player?

Even without a DVD player, your kids have plenty of options when it comes to watching DVDs. If your laptop or desktop computer has a disc drive, you're all set. If not, consider purchasing an inexpensive external disc drive that plays DVDs. You may also find that your kids' gaming consoles allow you to watch DVDs, and if you have a Blu-ray player on hand, it will play your DVDs too.
