However, spring water that has been purified through reverse osmosis has had all minerals removed and won’t have that milky taste. Water companies may use spring water or tap water. The purification process also affects the pH levels in water. The more acidic, the more sour the taste.

How is bottled water filtered?

Most bottled water companies filter water through reverse osmosis, which removes any minerals and other contaminants present in the water. The process involves the use of pressure and a semipermeable membrane. Water is pushed through the membrane and purified.
