Are spring water and mineral water the same thing?
Spring water is not the same thing as mineral water. Though both types of water contain minerals, spring water contains naturally occurring minerals derived directly from the spring where the water was sourced. Though spring water is filtered for drinking, it still retains its natural mineral composition. While mineral water also contains naturally occurring minerals, it may also have additional minerals added after it is sourced.
Is spring water better for you than tap water?
Spring water contains naturally occurring minerals that are beneficial to your body. Some of these minerals include calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, and others. Spring water is also more alkaline than tap water, which can have health benefits in the prevention of certain conditions.
What does alkaline water mean?
Alkaline water has a higher pH level than tap water. pH measures how alkaline or acidic water is on a scale of zero to 14, with seven being neutral. Anything below seven is considered acidic and anything above seven is alkaline. Alkaline water typically has a pH between eight or nine, whereas tap water falls within a pH range of six and a half to eight and a half. Some advocates of alkaline water feel it may help to neutralize acid in your bloodstream, as well as help prevent certain diseases, such as heart disease or cancer.
