How do I clean and maintain my bike brakes?

If you are riding in muddy terrains, you will want to clean your bikes and breaks after each ride to prolong the life of them. Be sure to spray down your bike as soon as your ride is over before the mud cakes on. If it cakes on, you may have to take off the break pad and gently scrap the mud off, being sure not to damage the pad. Once most of the debris is off, whether you were in the mud or not, isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle is one of the best solutions to clean break pads because it eats through dirt and grime, evaporates quickly, and will not over lube or make your pads slippery.
