An eye makeup palette is an easy way to experiment with a new look or create multiple different looks without having to purchase a variety of individual products. Palettes come with multiple hues of eye shadow, liner, and other products in a convenient tray-style case. They're easy to transport, and the colors of the products in them typically look good with one another, which takes the guesswork out of matching.

Palettes with a deep pigment will create a dramatic effect. The colors are bold and will cover the eyelid completely. For a more subtle look, look for a palette with neutral, sheer shades.

Don't be afraid of colors that look too dark. Palettes are meant to be blended together. Use a lighter color on the lid and a darker color in the corner, or layer a lighter color on top of a darker color to create a custom shade.
