Is a plastic trombone worth buying?

A plastic trombone can be a nice starter trombone for a child since it is much lighter than a brass trombone and won't dent. It is also generally much less expensive. As an adult, you might like a plastic trombone to have an alternative for practicing since you can carry it more easily from place to place or, due to its lower cost, it can be a nice second trombone. While it does produce a nice sound, the brass trombone produces richer, more precise tones.
