Does the Job!
PictureNutOriginally posted ondell.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/28/2012This was a great purchase. My husband wanted a DVD player in the bedroom and this was a great choice. It works like a champ and he is very happy with this product!!! Serves the purpose and was a great price!!! Also liked the free delivery to the store. Pick-up was smooth and carefree!wendij2
- 4 out of 5 stars review3/19/2012This is my 3rd Phillips DVD player that I purchased. I did purchase them all because I thought that they were a good value and seems to play everything I place into it. Also Walmart had a very good price and free shipping to store it could not be beat.
Good All Around Player
JJ2U - 4 out of 5 stars review5/5/2012Very nice unit. Slim, compact and good price. Will play almost any disc you put in it. A few draw backs about the remote: has no mute, it has click-style buttons instead of the soft-touch rubber buttons. Other than that its still great. I ordered it on line and received it in just over a day, very fast delivery and they marked the price down (again) just as i ordered it, good job Wal-mart!gadgetman17
- 4 out of 5 stars review12/28/2010I bought this product for my daughter and had it shipped directly to her. It arrived in a timley manner with no problems. She was able to hook it up immediately and start watching DVDs. She loves it, and if she gets an inexpensive cable, she can view all her DVDs in HD!
Good Gift
DealQueen50 - 4 out of 5 stars review3/14/2012Upscaling gives a much sharper/colorful picture. Slow response to remote but you get used to it and pace yourself - no big deal. I bought this for the USB feature, which I understood would read/run movies. I converted a couple of MPEG videos to DivX and avi but keep getting "video not supported". Checked the menu and don't see where I missed anything. Others mentioned watching videos on USB on this machine, so what am I doing wrong?
Maybe I midunderstood
oatka - 5 out of 5 stars review1/2/2011I have only had this product for a month or so, but it has done everything I wanted it to do so far. I cant see why they do not sell it in stores. You cant find any DVD player in stores that takes USB that playes more than Pics for anywhere neer the price of this DVD player.
Philips DVP3560/F7 DVD Player
LeMaire - 5 out of 5 stars review5/23/2012I bought this for just my bedroom, no children, no issues of stuff getting stacked on it. I wish there were more manual controls, but the whole world is going remote, so I guess I am an old timer on this issue. Plays really well, does have to "think" about things a lot sometimes, but is good for the money.
Small, great for one room
navaara - 5 out of 5 stars review4/16/2012When the DVD Player on my Philips surround sound system quit working, I thought I would have to by an entire new sound system. But at this price, I just added a new player! This unit is very small and fit on top of my other equipment easily. It is the only DVD player I saw that also has a USB port. I have some videos on my computer in XVid format... I simply transfer them to a USB thumb drive and plug it into this player and watch. Easy as that. Will also show pictures and play music AND you can rip audio CDs by putting them into this player and it puts the music files on a USB drive. A nice extra feature!!! My car stereo plays from a USB, so no more carrying the CDs with me. =^)
Very small size, play movies on USB
razorbackinNC - 5 out of 5 stars review12/30/2010Philips is the leader in providing an all format DVD Player. While it does not play Blue Ray (TM) as that would require Sony Proprietary Components, this DVD Player more than suffices for the average household user. This DVD Player is region free which means you can plays discs from all over the world! The playback system encompasses both PAL and NTSC and is capable of reading the following compressions formats: MPEG1, MPEG2, DivX 3.11, DivX 4.x, DivX 5.x, DivX 6.0, DivX Ultra, MP3, Dolby Digital, PCM, WMA, JPEG. For the techies out there, here are a few things to note: Picture is a 12 bit, 108MHz converter with Progressive scan, Video Upscaling (720p, 1080i/p); Audio features a Dolby Digital 12 bit, 192kHz converter with a Frequency Resp...
Philips DVP3560/F7 DVD Player
GMoney108 - 5 out of 5 stars review12/2/2010Wow. What a great product. I have purchased many DVD players over the years but none as complete as this one. It has a multitude of features that make it a primo product. I won't go over the features as you can see them for yourself on the specs page but I will say that it will play anything that I throw at it, including avi's from a usb jump drive, and most importantly for me it will play both NTSC and PAL with a simple code applied in the preferences setup. For $39.54 + tax and free delivery to your front door, it would be a crime not to take advantage of such a great product.
Outstanding
BritxPat - 3 out of 5 stars review3/25/2012I took a chance that this player would play mp4's. It's a good value but I already had an older model that did the same thing. My son didn't have one so he bought it from me. We download TV shows we missed but they are now coming through as mp4's so until they go back to avi's or mp3's we have to watch directly through the computer instead of the DVD player via the USB connection.
good value but didn'd play mp4's
Jknow - 2 out of 5 stars review12/22/2010I was excited about the USB function, but was disappointed that it doesn't play FLV files. There is a delay from pressing a button on the remote and when the DVD player responds. You also can't turn it on from the remote and have to press the power button on the player. The DVD tray doesn't come out far enough for you to put the DVD on flat. You have to slide it in a little bit increasing the chance of scratching your disc.
Not as expected
poitiers - 5 out of 5 stars review4/10/2011This is a great DVD player for $38 with both up convert capability and a HDMI port. I know others complain about the HDMI port failing, but I've run mine thoughout the night for months w/o any issues. Simple Repeat button so it keeps playing all night. Only downside issue is using the Zoom features negates the FF & Rev controls for skipping throgh commercials.
Great DVD Player
PokerBob - 4 out of 5 stars review3/5/2012Unfortunately I had to return the DVD to the nearest Walmart since the remote control did not work ! but , we did get another one , the same one, and it works beautifully...Just wish we didn't have to pack it up and take it to the store though since we had it delivered from the site..................thank you.Wildwoodgal
- 4 out of 5 stars review11/17/2010I was looking for a compact, easy-to-use DVD player that can play DivX AVIs from a USB drive. I was surprised to find this one, which also offers upscaling and an HDMI out, at such a low price. So far, we've been pleasantly surprised at its quality, and the intuitive nature of its design. Pop a USB drive in, and a menu pops up so you can choose what file you'd like to play. It also works pretty seamlessly with our TV, as activity from it seems to trigger the TV to switch to the relevant input. Not sure where credit should go for that aspect, but at least there's successful handshaking going on between the two components. If I've got criticism, I guess it's that boot-up time leaves a little to be desired (maybe 15-20 seconds), and you can't...
Intuitive, simple, flexible DVD player
Feothan - 5 out of 5 stars review10/15/2010I purchased the DVD player specifically to use with Divx files. My husband and I love the availability of Divx files on the internet, but we hated watching them on our small computer screen. Now we can watch those files on our flat screen with surround sound. At first I was worried that the resolution would be bad, screen movements would be choppy. Not at all! The digital images are sharp, the sound is wonderful. For a player less than $50, I am so very satisfied and don't have any complaints at all. I have not used it as a DVD player, so I don't have anything to report on that side. As a Divx player it is better than I was expecting.
Excellent Divx player!
mallen1230 - 5 out of 5 stars review10/9/2011It's the best DVD player I know. Plays a lot of formats, superior to other brands. Just opening big photos is a bit slow and lags behind other brands. The design is good but I find that the material is dull and takes a little beauty. Greatly recommend this DVD player.
The best DVD player
ag50055Originally posted onphilips.com - 5 out of 5 stars review5/7/2012Purchased one from a different online store for twice as much, but liked it so much purchased two more from Walmart.com. It plays every thing I've played in it so far, seek time is fast. No online apps come installed, but TV's has all the apps that i need.
Great DVD for the Price
