Hey there DJ! The gel-setter top coat will put great shine on any mani, including one done with the gel couture.  The mani may not last quite as long as it would using the gel couture top coat, but your nails should still look great for at least  week.

started with base coat, two coats of polish, then essie gel setter top coat, giving about 3 minutes between coats, then hit each nail with a couple small drops of the drying drops, and within 15 minutes my nails were dry enough to run my fingers through my hair without damaging the finish! even pressed my finger firmly into a couple and it left no fingerprints whatsoever. THIS STUFF IS A DREAM for the the home manicurist!!!!!

I just wanted to take a moment to give credit where credit is due. I bought this gel-setter topcoat by at the drugstore. I applied two coats over my three coats of regular crème polish. I used it on my vacation nails and my manicure lasted 11 days with minimal chipping. To me, this is outstanding because during my vacation I was in the ocean and the hot tub. I built Sandcastles.  I did anything and everything I wanted to do, so I feel that they held up fairly well. So kudos to you Essie!

Great top coat!

I use this over top of my color street manis. It gives them more of a gel finish that makes my nails look like they're done in a salon. I get lots of compliments

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so impressed with the gel setter! It's not thick and gloopy and it dried quicker than I would have thought! I am a stay at home mom and work at the hospital as a nurse one day a week so I am constantly doing things with my hands and wash them all the time! After 5 days this has held up so nicely! I love that you can use it with any nail polish too! It is easily removed with nail polish remover too. Couldn't be more impressed with this product!

Absolutely amazing!

This is my go-to top coat!! the surface dries very quickly, and is the only top coat i've found to dry entirely without getting any wrinkles, chips, smudges. previous coats i've used will wrinkle even two days later, this one completely dries within 30 minutes!! the glossy shine makes my nails so beautiful and complete. definitely the best top coat around

The only top coat i will buy

This is my first time using Essie brand and I will definitely be a loyal customer going forward! I used mademoiselle with the good to go top coat. Let me just say...I really put it to the test! I put two coats of color and the top coat then immediately went to the gym. 5 minutes to get there, 3 miles on the treadmill, 30 minutes of lifting, and a shower later...my nails were perfect! The picture is AFTER all that! Of course, you have to be careful the first few minutes. But thats it!! Just a few minutes and you're good! Thank you, Essie for giving me back some time in my busy life.

Really does work!

I love Essie Products! The nail drops intrigued me as I am often impatient when it comes to allowing my nail polish to dry. Although I was slightly disappointed as it didn't seem to make a difference (I followed the instructions).

Not what I expected

Bought this on impulse after experiencing shrinking from quick dry formulas, however I didn't read the reviews until later. This top coat never allows my polish to cure, I painted my nails at 9am yesterday and woke up today with horrible imprints. I've read reviews and these complaints go back for years… why hasn't this been fixed/discontinued yet?

24 hours later and still soft

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to try this gel top coat. I have loved the gel look but hate paying the price to have them done. I have tried several different gel options for at home use. I've tried this top coat twice thinking I didn't let the polish dry enough. So I retried it again today and I had the same results. Every nail smudged. It has been hours and still hasn't cured. So disappointed.

Never fully dried

It doesn't dry!  I waited over an hour after applying on top of two coats of Essie “no more film” before getting in bed and woke up with sheet marks. I typically love any Essie product but not this one.  To add insult to injury I just noticed a chip.
