Cyanide is not a bacteria so I doubt that would help.
I thought organic meant no pesticides .

Is the ground/milled flax seeds toasted/roasted to destroy the cyanide that most seeds/nuts contain?

I am so glad Walmart has started selling ground flax seed again!!!! I put 2 heaping tablespoons in my cereal (Honey bunches of oats with almonds) and it taste amazing!! It being healthy is a bonus too.

We use flax in most of our cooking now and we were happy to find Wild Oats Organic brand here on Walmart.com. The product is very fresh and comes in a heavy duty zip top bag for easy storage. We keep ours in the freezer after opening to retain its freshness. We are really happy to see Walmart.com bring more organic products to its website but would really like to see them add a "Vegan" section to Walmart.com.

Fresh! Great Package

I just recently discovered the benefits to flax seed so I went out looking and was very pleased to see Wild oats had an organic product and it was a good price. The bag is large so it lasts awhile and you can put it in a variety of things. I use it a lot I cook it inside meats, I put it in smoothies and yogurts and many snack items for my kids to make sure they get the benefits from this product too.

Flax Seed has so many benefits to the body. These are organic and ground so you can mix them in with just about anything. If you are using this product for the first time, start with small amounts and gradually increase the desired amount.

I'm a registered dietitian, and often recommend to my clients and patients to add flaxseeds into their diet to easily bump up my daily fiber intake and intake of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids. I love adding these to my salads and smoothies, and dips for chips. The ground kind goes unnoticed by picky eaters, so it's easy to sneak this product into foods for added nutritional benefit. I also love the nutty aroma of ground flax.

Easy Way to Add Fiber and Omega-3's to diet

Previously I had always purchased the whole flax seed and ground them myself. This product is very finely ground and I use it in making pancakes and add it to cooked lentils, cereal and just about anything. They are organic and made in the U.S.A. After the bag is opened it is necessary to refrigerate or freeze the product. It comes in a resealable plastic bag. This is a great product and is great for good health. The best by date provides about a year to use the product and it will likely be used up way before that.

I would recommend the wild oats ground flax seed. I like the fact that it is organic and is already ground.

Product is good. Walmart shipping has become very slow. Out of stick on many items, especially ones they should have plenty of. It was great at first. Now 6months in to purchasing online their quality of service has dropped a lot.

On the shelf at my local Wal-Mart, this product replaced what I have been happily buying for months - Wild Roots milled golden flaxseed. When I opened the pouch, to my dismay a fishy odor wafted up to my nose. Ugh. I peered into the pouch and noticed the flax meal was a dull dark brown color, unlike the light golden color of the Wild Roots brand. Since I'd spent money on it, I used it in my Trim Healthy Mama Bread in a Mug recipe, as I had been doing with the Wild Roots flax. I bravely tasted the still fishy-smelling bread. Yuck. Blech. My bread had a nasty fishy taste, as well. Gross. I wish I could get my money back for this. Please, please sell WILD ROOTS golden milled flaxseed again!
