This is my first drone. I plan to buy a DJI Mavic Mini but want to learn and crash a cheaper option. So far I've flown into 2 medium sized tree branches and a park bench when the battery started to die. To my surprise, pop back any arms folded by the crash and it takes right off. Picture quality  is acceptable. Controller sticks have play but touchy once activated. This last flight was my 3rd time and I'm not used to the controls yet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am highly impressed by this Skyhawk drone from Vivitar. I was expecting it to be a toy, or similar quality to be honest, this is truly a high tech, durable drone. It is easy to install the batteries, both the rechargeable one it comes with to power the drone itself, and the AAAs I bought to power the remote. I love that it comes with an extra set of propellers because I supervised my children with it and on the first launch they may have had a slight crash into the fence on impact. I would advise supervision if you allow your children to fly the drone. 
The app adds a great new level of fun to it, you can control it by your phone, it takes both pics and video which I'm waiting to do that when we can take it out of town away from houses, buildings, trees and powerlines to really fly it. This drone is a lot bigger than I expected too, I was really just expecting a little lightweight small thing but this skyhawk drone exceeded all my expectations.  When you are flying it yourself, it has smooth take off and return landing, it even has a button for emergency landing to do it quicker.

it's my first venture to a above toy grade drone and I'm very satisfied so far. I flew it this evening almost directly out of the box. just calibrate and fly. my second flight was using the app to see the beautiful view of the neighborhood. I've only really flown toy grade drones in the passed where your doing all the flying, having the stability of the gps and wifi on my phone makes this feel like a very expensive piece of equipment. Im satisfied.

great for the money

Got this for arial photos of a friends property. Worked well although the camera angle must be set manually before flight, and there's no zoom control. App works well on an iphone 12, although in sunlight it's hard to tell if the video icon is highlighted on. Took a few tries to calibrate - power the controller off between each try. Easy to fly, the return-to-base is great, follow-me not so much. As you'd expect from the size, it can't handle more than a gentle breeze. Also, great fun!

Good for arial photos with no breeze

I flew this drone yesterday night the camera is not that bad.well the farthest I flew it was 77.7 meters away.Alittle lag but still had video stream connection.I recommend getting this drone it's a good drone.

This drone is not as bad as I thought

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vivitar Sky drone is so cool. I'm very impressed with the quality of the photos done from the air.  Unfortunately the drone doesn't handle well in the wind but will return safely when you request it. As a photographer I was very impressed with the images this drone capture and I would recommend it to anyone that's looking for a great drone and definitely worth the price.

Amazing images

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this just about a month ago, due to weather I haven't had much of an opportunity to fly it. I will say out of the box it's a nice drone. I love how compact it is. But the directions are not the easiest and I had to end up googling how to sync the controller to the drone, because the instructions didn't say anything about how to do it. 

Once it was synced to the controller it was OK, I noticed when I pressed the return to start(homsee...forgot exactly what it's called) it would come back through and attack me instead of going to it's starting position(my son got a good laugh out of it). I also noticed when just using the app, the controls were super sensitive, and I also ran into issues starting and stopping it when needed. A couple times I had to actually reach out and grab it so I could turn it off, it was like it had a mind of its own. 

The camera was awesome though, I can't share the videos or pictures I took because it was in our alley. Once I find time to go and find an open lot some where I will try again. 

I definitely do not recommend this to someone who is just starting out. Definitely need to have some knowledge of how drones work.

Awesome concept but needs work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice drone. I like that it comes with replaceable propellers. I definitely would like if the battery lasted a bit longer(that's the reason for the 3 stars). The features are nice and it's compact. It a fun little toy.
