The seat is kept in place by a single screw. It goes on the front underside of the seat, through the front frame. Make sure the seat is properly aligned with the back, do not rely on the screw hole being centered, it is not.

There are actually 3 screws that "hold" the seat on - the one in the front (mentioned in the other review) and one in each "side" - all three go through the side panels and screw up into the seat at somewhat of an angle - look for the "channels" in the inside of the supporting sides. Did not give me a real sense of lasting stability but for $45 a chair I guess I can't complain

u have to make your own holes with the skrews. just place the seat properly and skrew them in

I positioned the seat so it was centered and inserted the 2 screws on the sides, then saved the fronr bottom seat screw for last. The last screw never really dug in, so I made sure the 2 screws on the sides were tightly inserted.

How do I assemble the seat for this stool?

my fiancee is 300lbs and he hasn't fell thru yet......

It is not stated, but I broke the foot rest with 90 KG, had to repair & reinforce. I would not put more than 100 KG on it.

I am 135 lbs and it seems to hold me ok. However, the stools are a very light weight type wood product, I have seen the stools that wal mart carries in store( The basic plain pine type with round seat and they are heavier than these!)

I've never seen a weight limit on a chair before, but I can tell you I weigh 300 lbs and I feel comfortable while sitting on this chair.

Love these chairs, they are made with quality materials and I can see they will last. They look great. The assembly was perfectly simple, my 8 year old son was able and happy to do most of the assembly!

Heavy, Sturdy, Built to Last

I just purchased (2) 2 packs of these counter stools as a temporary solution to my newly renovated kitchen. I don't have the funds to purchase the ones I want at the moment. They were easy to put together and they look great with the color scheme. The only thing I'm worried about is how they will hold up to my kids. The finish is nice but looks weak for early wear and tear, we soon shall see. I attached pictures to show how beautifully they look in my new kitchen.

Nice looking stools for a cheap price

My husband and I just moved into a new home with a large island. We've been looking for 4 chairs for about 6 months and that's when we saw these. We were concerned with the quality for the price but we liked the look so we took a chance. Other chairs we liked were $200-500.00 each so you can't beat this price. They are made of wood and pretty solid. My husband is in construction and even he was impressed with the quality for the price. He did have to put them together, but it was worth it and pretty simple to do. They work perfect in our space and I would absolutely tell someone to checkout Walmart for these.

Great quality & cute!

These chairs were a fantastic price and look like they cost much more than they did! They were easy to assemble and have held up with my kids for the last 5 months. Would definitely buy them again!

Great bar stools!

The instructions were NOT good. So it took forever to put the stools together. The ONE pre-drilled hole for the seat was not centered, there was no pre-drilled holes for the other two screws so you have to apply pressure to make the screws fit. Other than set up I LOVE them! The color matches my dark cabinets perfectly and they've seem to hold up through this weekend :)

Looks Great but took too long to put together!

I had bought 29" espresso bar stools exactly like these prior to me buying the 24" ones. Right off the bat, I noticed they weren't the same color! The toddler ones have more of a deep red tone in them & the shorter ones are more brown. Pretty noticeable difference. I wanted them to match. They both said espresso so I assumed. But since I'm not using them right next to each other, it works ok.

Another reason I deducted stars is because after just a week, I noticed a chip on the edge of one of the seats, so I guess the finish isn't too dependable. It's like nail polish chipping off your fingernails.

They were easy to put together but one of them had no pre-drilled hole one the seat. And I had to use a longer screw under the front of a seat because they pre-drill holes under the fronts & that kind of leaves less to screw into.

Very nice-looking chairs. I would buy again! I can live with the flaws & I'm still happy with them. I just wanted to inform everyone of my experience

Pretty chairs

The package arrived late, the directions didn't make sense especially with the obscure pictures. The worst part of this all is that the screws are too short to attach the chair seat to the stool. And there is only one screw to attach the whole seat so the back of the chair seat wiggles around. Complete waste of money if you plan on using the chairs. They would work for staging a home and they are actually very pretty but impractical to use to sit on. Very little thought is put into the actual portion that you use to sit on. Warning; do not buy. Now I have to return something that doesn't even fit in my car to return to the store. Waste of money!

Horrible Product DO NOT BUY

Those stools look perfect on the picture. In reality even though the materials are OK, (no cracked parts made of rotten wood as the table that goes with them in the set) but there are few issues:

1. minor one - it's rather hard to assemble it precisely - if you slide and align the seat to the back seat snugly - then it will extend very differently on the left vs right in front of the stool.
If on the other hand you aligh it to be symmetrical on the front (as it should be) - then it will create ugly gap between it and one of the rear bars. I thought that gap would not be a big deal - but it is very noticeable.

2. Major one. Every single surface is not painted/finished form the bottom. On the top bar you can actually see naked engineered wood in spots when it was supported while being spray-painted. On the front in grooves there are rough patches (not polished, looking like tar)

3. Usability: The edges are rather sharp (right non-routed corners everwhere - hurts legs and feet, if you rest them on the lower bars. (where else you are supposed to keep your feet on 24" stool?)

4. Overal - Poor QA. Poor design. What you get is what you pay.

Very poorly finished/painted, hard to align

These chairs are horrible quality. We opened the box only to find that there was not one place on a single chair that did not have a chip, dent, or even a fracture in the wood. After lugging the table and chairs upstairs (and fitting them into our compact car) we now have to haul everything back to the store for the refund. Will not be buying anything from walmart.com again.
