    not up to 48"

My window opening was just shy of 47". I thought this product would be perfect however the actual tension ends prior to even reaching 46" so if your window is anything greater than 44-45" this won't work at all.. You need up to an inch extra on the rod to provide tension. In addition once you go that far the middle will sag even with the lightest of curtains. Love the idea and the rod itself looks nice but the measurements and stability at larger openings won't really work..

    Good idea, Convenient product

My mother and I purchased 3 of these total. We love it because there are no drill and nails required to use it. My only issue with it is with the blinds sitting inside the corner of my windows, the rod had to go under it. However, you can't really tell a difference unless you are looking at it from a distance. Oh and it would be nice if they offered it in gold. Since everybody else says they're broken when they are shipped, I would recommend purchasing them at the store. Overall, good idea and good product.

These are perfect if you want something that looks nice but don't want to mess up your walls. They may not be too sturdy if you pulled on them or stepped on the curtain if it drags on the floor but they look nice and hold the curtains up very well. I bought the last 3 they had at my store and one even had been open before but all 3 worked perfect and did not break like others wrote. I was apprehensive to buy these because of some bad reviews but I had a great experience with this product and am glad I bought these.

I am looking for curtain rods to put up in the apartment I am renting... The windows already have mini blinds installed in them (but they don't block the blinding morning sunlight). This leaves a little under 1/2" of gripping space inside the window frame for me to put a tension rod in. How far back do the mounts go inside of the curtain frame?

    • You need at least an inch. However, could you place it just under and count for the upper 3 inches to cover the blinds top?? The rod fits in a pocket, like most curtain, below the very top.

    • We have blinds, too, and installed them right below the blinds frame, a little light comes in the top, and you can see the blind frame. I think 1/2" would not be enough room unless you installed under the blind frame, which you could probably do.

    • We didn't want to put up screws to damage our walls either and these rods are exactly what we needed easy to use they go in the wall as much as a thumb tact not much damage that can't be covered by paint.

    • Only the bracket fits inside the frame. The rod sticks out about 1 inch from the wall. I mounted mine over mini blinds also with no problems except the top 1" of the mini blind valance will be visible.

    • When we hung them in my sister's kitchen window, she already had mini blinds up. Worked great for us & we can't tell from looking that they aren't the "drill a hole in the woodwork" kind of curtain hardware. They are staying up well to because we adjusted the tension properly (follow the instructions on the package).

    • About an inch or so. My rental house has blinds as well and they were mounted poorly, but these rods fit just fine.
