Helpful book, but needs more point and shoot info I wanted a book that would be helpful in teaching me how to shoot better pictures, and how to use many of the settings on my camera. This book is helpful for those that want to know "how", without all of the "why". It seems to be geared a bit towards the more expensive DSLR cameras, although many of the tips and techniques can also be used for point and shoot users. It's not everything I was hoping for, but it covered a lot of useful information. 11/29/2010

Good book I am new to photography and this was a good book to get me started. Lot's of great advice and recommendations on equipment to buy, etc.If you are brand new to photography this is a great book.He explains things in the book as to show you what you need to do to set up your camera for this and that type of shot i.e. f/2.8 or as low f stop as you can get and zoom in for a close up of the flower, this will blur the background.Rather than the details of aperature, exposure and shutter speed although those are a MUST to learn this book is more of an answers book.How and what setting do I need to do this and that. So, this isn't going to be your ONLY book on photography but you'll need this book to be ONE of them for sure; and I recommend it. 08/04/2009
Author Easy to understand I got this book over a year ago and found it a great book for reference for refreshing my knowledge for taking photos. I got this book for a friend who is just now starting to find a great hobby in photograhy and she is finding the book very helpful as well. The author has a great way to stay right to the point and not use a lot of mumbo jumbo that is hard to understand. I highly recommend this to anyone. 02/16/2009
