Yes, there is a switch on the light. There are two versions so it depends on which version you buy as to what the filter is like, but in both cases, the light can be turned on and off separately. BREX

You can turn off the light, and the pump will still run.  The only way to turn off the pump is to unplug it.

depends on the fish. 10 zebras would be fine OR 2 small goldfish OR a betta pair (male and femal, never put two males together) OR 5 mollys or guppys or ....well you get the picture :)

You should ALWAYS stick with the 2 gallons per inch rule. Personally, I like my fish to have a bit more room so I keep it 3-4 gallons per inch. This is 1.5 gallons, so you really should only put 1 very small fish in it. If you want a betta for a tank like this, you&#39;ll have better luck with a small female.

I would strongly urge you NOT to do this. Bettas like to be the only ones, are alpha minded beings that live in little tiny places in the wild. They have bad eyesight and any fish that resembles bigger size and gender will make them attack. They don't even get along when they are male and female. Because they are naturally aggressive fish, they like to be 1) the only ones in the tank or 2) have huge tanks with smaller fish swimming about. The two you saw at the pet store would have had to coexist in a BIGGER aquarium. This little one does not cut the mustard, mon. Good luck :D

I wouldn't reccommend it in a tank this small. It can really depend on the temperment of the fish though. You can try it, but I would reccomment a back-up plan if you see them nipping at each other's fins. A bigger tank may work, preferrably a 5 gallon tank.

You should NEVER EVER house a male and a female betta together unless they are properly conditioned for breeding. Breeding bettas is complicated and should never be done without research. Bettas do not live in "tiny places" in the wild, this is a myth. They live in vast rice paddies that are shallow without any current. In rice paddies, the female has plenty of space and hiding places to escape the male--putting them together even in a big tank is a terrible idea. Please research bettas before you buy them, and I suggest getting a bigger tank. You can buy a 5 gallon for a similar price.

This tank is perfect for my betta. It has plenty of room and the filtration system is great. It keeps the water very clear. Plus the lighting is great because its not too bright. I love this tank so much I got this one to put another betta in !

Best Betta tank

Love this tank it’s the perfect size for my betta and he seems to really like it. The filter works well and whisper quiet with zero noise. I actually like the filter feature the best in comparison to my other two betta tanks so I’m buying another tank. I attached an LED to the lid to make my betta’s plants glow.

Before I had this my beta fish was just in a fish bowl and I felt bad. So I got him this and now he isn't just surviving hes thriving and he's more active. I purchased some stones and little things to put in and he's a happy little fish now. And he looks healthier.

I like this 1.5 gal tank. Its small but cute. My daughter was gifted a betta with a .5 gal tank for her birthday but I wanted him to have more room so I bought this one. I've only had it about a week and half but I like it so far.

There are different versions, of this Tetra 1.5 gallon tank currently being sold. Personally, I love the version that I bought at my local Walmart. It is pretty much like the one shown, on this product page, but that the light sits on top of the lid, instead of over it. Some of the fish that are in my big 55 gallon aquarium had babies, so I found this cute one, to transfer the babies into, so they wouldn't get eaten by the bigger fish. It's perfect and cute!! The tank is square and sits on a black elevated square. It is sturdy. The tank is plastic, so be careful as it could crack if not handled carefully or if dropped. The top comes off and the led light sits on top of the hood of the tank. It has a little spot it rests in. The light has a button on it for on/off. It comes with the light, the filter and the cartridge. Be careful when using the filter, as it sucked one of my baby fish up it. Thankfully, I was able to save the baby. The filter would not be a problem for bigger fish. The filter is noisy, if you don't attach it correctly. This does not come with a heater, so I bought a little heater to go inside. It keeps the water a perfect temperature for the babies. It's a really cute and stylish tank, perfect for what I need it for. I highly recommend it.

After one night I still like the tank. But the 1.5 gallon square tank does not have a storage compartment like the description said. i also wish the light was USB but it is not. It requires two plugs one for the filter and one for the light. It doesn't seam cheep but i wouldn't drop it on the floor if i were you.

The truth

The filter kept spitting water onto my counters. Returned and bought another one thinking it was a fluke but it wasn’t. Every couple weeks I’d come home to a half empty tank and my counter covered. I decided to get a tank from Petco and it has been much better.

Waste of money.

Had for about 3 months and it all of a sudden leaked all over the place. It was in a bedroom and one morning I walked passed the bedroom hearing a water running sound. I paused and looked in the room to find the tank had about 2 inches of water in it. I walked in closer to it and water was everywhere. It ruined some board games that was sitting near by a lot with some other things that can’t get wet. Attached a picture to show how much water was in it after I had removed it from the room.

Loved this little tank for my Betta.  It was perfect size for my space and looked lovely.  I bought and set it up on April 22 - on June 16, it started leaking and. flooded my foyer.  I'm 71 years old and live alone.  Nobody had messed with it or done anything to it.  I had to frantically rescue and provide for my fish while simultaneously cleaning up a huge mess before getting online and ordering a new GLASS tank.

Spontaneous leak @ less than 2 mos.
