you get their fastest speed which is 4G with a 4G capable phone for only 100MB (which is for very low web usage) after that it goes down to their slower 2G speed and that is unlimited. hope that helps.

As the card states you get the first 100 MB (which is a very small amount) at “up to” 4G speeds, but after that it goes down to 2G which is like “dial up” speed and that is very slow. They call this “throttling” and virtually all pay as you go cards do it. If you were watching a movie online at that speed it would be coming in so slow it would look like you were watching the movie as a “Slide Show”. You need to read the fine print. I know smart talk says in the fine print that their “Unlimited data” is up to 1GB and then they throttle you down to 2G (although they never use the word Throttle). After 1.5GB they can say you are using excessive data and can restrict you from using any more data at all, so I don’t know how they can call it “unlimited data”. We have an actual 10GB monthly plan from Verizon and it actually does give you 4G speed for the entire 10GB with no “throttling”. I guess the old adage is true….“you get what you pay for”.

What does "First 100 MB at 4G Speeds" mean in the specifications for the $50 T-Mobil card?

YOU CAN GET THE SIM UNLOCKED AND SE IT ON THE T-MOBILE, I JUST DID THAT WITH MY ATT SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 AND WORKD JUST FINE

Don't have to buy a new phone (you can use any sim card phone from ATT). Make sure you call ATT Customer Service to have the phone Un-Locked ( they have to do the for you ) - then, plug your sim card in and go..!

I have tested the procedure as suggested. Have my 3gs unlocked, purchased a pay as you go phone and SIM card at Walmart, and used T-Mobile's SIM in my AT&T unlocked 3gs. Yes it works, however the data speed was really, really bad. After speaking with T-Mobil representatives, only the third one admitted that my phone will not work with 3G speed. Funny that one of the first ones told me that it will (it was before I purchased T-M card) but warned me that it will some times not work. They could not explain what 'sometimes mean', which already gave me a thought that it means 'never'.

I have 3GS from AT&T. Can I switch or do I have to buy a new phone?

Yes if the iPhone is unlocked and buy a t-mobile prepaid simcard. Standard for 3S or older, micro for 4 and 4S and nano for 5 which is currently unavailable prepaid.

Based on my experience, and discussion with T-Mobil rep, you can use it but you will not get 3G data speed. Ever.
As per calls (if you still want to use it even though no fast data:)
You need to have your phone unlocked.
To unlock you need to call your provider.
In case of AT&T you need to be outside of your 2y agreement and your account in good standing.

Got the pin number in under 20 minutes by email added it to my account no problem at all.  Amazon wants $59.99   tax and 4.99 shipping for the same $50.00 refill card.  Can't beat Walmart.

Make sure you buy the correct network card.  i was buying this for a friend and he told me tmobile so i bought this.  Turns out he has metro by tmobile and it can not use the regular tmobile refill card.  ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS ON THESE CARDS
