I have no clue why they say it weighs this much but it dosen't. I took my son-in-law just in case and he had no problems by himself.

It is made of Poly-Resin and weighs about 8 pounds assembled. Not sure where 178 lbs came from. I moved it from one side of the house to the other no sweat.

The Suncast DB9000 weighs about 44 pounds.

The 178 pound listed weight is a mistake. It is easily moveable by a 120 pound woman, me. It is a plastic type of material. You will love it is the best deck box around and totally waterproof. I have had two for years and just ordered two more. Storage is ample.

It appears to be made of an engineered polymer. 178.8 pounds is pure BS--it weighs 30 pounds or less.

What is this product made of. I did not realize until after I purchased it online that it weighed 178.8 pounds.

The Suncast 99-Gallon Deck Box is a Light Taupe color. This is a medium tan that complements many decors. Thank you for your interest in Suncast products.

The box that I received is what I would describe as cream color.

Definitely not cream. More like taupe or putty.

I can sit on it, and I weigh 130 lbs. I wouldn't say that it is designed to be a bench that holds several adults though.

I think it could handle one person of average size.

I had a little trouble putting it together because I did not read the instructions (How hard could this be? Six pieces, snapped together).

I am satisfied with the box and believe it to be the best one for the price to be had. I also liked the free shipping to my local Walmart.

Although it is a "Deck Box", my wife will not let me keep it on the deck. I am still working on that.

A Good Value

I bought this box about A month ago and  first of all it consumed about 10 minutes of my time to put it together and for the cost you can't do better, it's great for what I needed it for.

I ordered this deck box and had it delivered to a Walmart store semi-close to my home. The staff at the store were a little confused, and had some difficulty finding the item, but once they located where it was, they arranged for someone to assist me with it to my car. The pick up process took about 25 minutes or so.
The box went together quite easily, (about 15 minutes) and I have found a way to get all of my cushions to fit and have the lid close, so I am happy!

Very good product

This box was purchased in addition to a smaller one that I purchased approximately 20 years ago and still going strong. EASY to put together. My only complaint is that it's somewhat bigger than I thought it would be, but I'll keep and use for MANY years.

Suncast is a good product

Purchased for cushion storage.  More room than expected.  My neighbor saw it and liked so much asked me to order her one.  Price reasonable and unit very functional.  Can be used for so many things.

Perfect storage

We purchased this deck box for holding pool towels and it has gone through some pretty torrential rainfall. The pool towels have stayed nice and dry. It holds a gazillion towels and it has really been handy for extra seating, too. We haven't had need to lock this but are happy that it has that option when we need to lock it during the off season. Thanks for a great product.
