Yes, mine does work without the lure. I haven&#39;t even used my lure. I am saving it for a camping trip. I used this zapper nightly inside my home all summer.

I use mine while plugged in all the time. I use it in my home during the summer and never used the lure. I am saving it for when we go camping. Works great for all bugs.

Do i need to purchase anything else to recharge this or does it just plug into the plug-in th recharge?

This is a great portable bug zapper. You can take it anywhere because it's rechargable. Ever since I set mine up in my house, I've been living in a no fly zone for pests. It's dual use as either a lantern or bug zapper was a nice bonus. When fully charged it stays lit four approximatley 4 hours. My only negative comment is that I would have liked the battery to last longer.

Excellent way to control flying insects.

I bought this insect zapper not for mosquitoes but for a plague of tiny little fruit flies that have been driving me nuts.
I've had the zapper running 24/7 since I got it and now it's a bad day if I see more than one fly a day.
This zapper does exactly what it's advertized to do and does it well.

Very good value for the money

I bought this in Oct 2016!! I have it on all day by my front door and the bulb has lasted until today April 2020!! I had to come on here and write a review for it. I just ordered a pair of replacement bulbs for it. It kills houseflies, mosquitoes, and small moths. I would find some ants sometimes too, I have no clue how they got there or how or if they got zapped. If the bulb is not the problem then I'll definitely buy a new unit again.

I live near Buffalo Bayou in Houston and during the summer months, the mosquitos slip in when I enter and exit my place. I turn on the bug zapper at night to kill the critters. No more bites while I am sleeping! Works great indoors. Easy to recharge. Very happy with my purchase!

Kills the mosquitos and flies!

This product is not magical, but if you have a small mosquito amount getting into your house while you open the door, then this product is what you might be looking for.
Works on battery for some +4hrs and it does finish mosquitoes and other insects attracted by UV light.
I charge it during the day and let it on while sleeping at night close to my room. No more bites at all. In the morning it is already discharged and off, but it did its nightly job.
I also place it close to my main and back door sometimes at night and I can hear the zaps over and over.
Have a pleasant night with this product.

The product I needed - No more mosquito bites

I purchased two of these to cover more area.  Charging time is very fast .  Unfortunately it doesn't last long probably 3-4 hours at the most,  but good news if you can shield charger from the rain,  for example I hang these zeppers under the porch roof  then you can leave it on all night long.  On another hand it's great to have portable zapper.  I did use a couple times in my garden where I noticed bunch of mosquitoes,  where electrical outlet is not possible.  Now on the good side,  these zippers do a great job attracting mosquitoes and other flying insects.  I was surprised to hear zap sound almost every five10 seconds.  and it seems like new style of lamp really attracts more insects compared to my old white color lamp.  Despite a small size it really kills a lot of insects.  I would highly recommend this and planning to buy two more.  Photos below shows bunch of mosquitoes and insects on my very first night.  also there were a dozen of them stuck between grills   and didn't fall into the tray.  I used reverse side of vacuum machine to blow and clean all the insects stuck between the grills.  for such a small size and probably three hours of working on the charge I would say these zappers did excellent job.  included mosquito attracting paste supposedly last for 30 days.  therefore I purchased couple additional alone with zeppers

Works better then advertised

Great item, I charged it when first received and put it outside, forgot I had it on and had it on for 24 hours and zapper light was still  illuminated.  Put it in black light mode and bugs were drawn to it immediately and zapped them down.  Highly recommend as a zapper and as a lantern.

Great Bug Zapper

Unlike those ugly wall bug lights, this one is not as 'gross'. We actually use this indoors by the door entrance every time we grill on our deck. This way the flying bits of annoyance are less likely to sneak inside and cover our white ceiling with their squirming little selves. It would work wonderfully in a tent (in 4 hour bursts) or camper in the say way it works great in my home since it has a rechargeable battery that lasts about 4 hours between recharges.

We've used it outdoors as well at night and it works reasonably well at zapping the little pests. However, due to the nature of a bug zapper (attracting pests in general rather than repelling them) it is less well suited to this task. We have not tried the included attractant as the zapper attracts flying six legged critters well without this inclusion.

The only downfall to this device is it's plastic housing. If dropped (our first one fell off it's peg when bumped) the plastic housing snaps in such a way as to render repair impossible. Aside from that flaw, it works wonderfully.

Portable, rechargeable zapper

Used mostly indoor for small pests. Works good in dimly lit room to attract flying bugs. Recharges great, but only for 3-4 hrs before needing a recharge. I like it cause it portable to carry from room to room.

It works. It attracts them but not very well. It works better indoors than out. But it doesn't outright kill them. They get stunned, stay stuck or fall. Once they fall, they are walking around again. If you open that tray and are uninformed, you'll be in for a swarming surprise. It does attract them, and kill some, hence the fair rating. I'm returning it and buying something more powerful. You may not be able to tell but in the picture, some are dead on their backs and others are roaming about. Good luck
