I think these shelves will do the job for those items--just make sure you balance the load on each shelf and it should be fine.

Each shelf can hold up to 125lbs, so the entire 5-shelf unit holds 625lbs.

Each shelf holds a maximum 150 lb., evenly distributed.

I found this answer right in the product description/I believe it's 75 LBS.
I would have to go back into the description to be sure.

Not sure about exact weight, but I have 4 large 12" pots of plants on each shelf with no problems. I would estimate each pot weights 8 to 10 lbs. I would certainly recommend it for books and think the bottom shelf would easily hold the bags of clay.

I wouldn't suggest putting over 100 lbs. per shelf. Even with the items distributed evenly across the shelf, it will bow in the middle if too much weight is applied.

Sterilite shelving systems are a great value for a sturdy solution to garage clutter. They hold a lot of weight, and they're easy to transport and put together. (Using Site to Store made it even easier, and cheaper for me). I've used Sterilite shelves before, but now they come in a dark grey color that makes them a little more aesthetically appealing. I needed another set, so I knew I had to get these. If you're in the market for a cheap, sturdy shelving unit, this one is a great buy.

Needed some extra quick shelving and this fit the bill and the space. Very sturdy! Perfect for heavy stuff in the shop.

This shelving is the best I have ever seen for plastic shelving at this low price. We have it loaded down with heavy books and other stuff and it is holding up extremely well. I liked the first shelving unit I bought that I bought 2 more just like it. Excellent, sturdy product at an excellent price.
