Another reviewer said it didn't work at all… which is not the case if you use it with a keyboard that inherently supports PS/2 and USB (i.e. the IC of the device needs to be able to communicate using the PS/2 protocol). This adapter is a purely mechanical converter. Many modern keyboards don't support it, some do. Your mileage might vary. Don't blame StarTech for this though since it's by design.

The adapter is fine. Good product, but not what I needed. I needed an adapter for a PS2 keyboard to be adapted to USB. I didn't read the documentation correctly !!!

Good Adapter

Can't beat the price for this adapter. If you have older devices that still uses PS2 connections, but only have a USB keyboard or mouse, this is what you need.

a little slow in delivery (3 day late) - but works!\n

Plug wouldn't work when I plugged it into the computer with the usb for my wireless keyboard...returned it with no problems.

I bought several of these for use with a USB keyboard, to connect it to a computer with PS/2 ports.  I tried this on 3 different computers, none of the computers recognized the keyboard.  I know the keyboard works because I use it on a computer with a USB port

Doesn't work

If it would have worked on my keyboard it would have been a great value! I suppose the USB Keyboard I had was a powered keyboard and the USB female to PS/2 Male adapter could not provide the required power to the keyboard and never was able to use it to input data.

Didn't work

A simple gadget that did not work. I bought 2 and will be taking them back to the store. Previous reviewers had similar results. I should have listened. I will now try the more expensive gadget.
