The beauty of cast iron is there is no ruined. It can be seasoned over and over. Key is to not use soap on cleaning. It isn&#39;t necessary. You can use a scrub brush and baking soda to get it clean then use a little oil to rub on with a cloth or paper towel. That&#39;s it! Ready for use again.

Yes. They make the best camping stove pans because they distribute the heat evenly. I just bought my set for my 2 burner propane camper stove.

Does the lid fit the 10" fry pan also or just the Dutch Oven

I tossed the box away already so I do not know the standard method of measurement. I did, however, pour 4 Quarts of water to the top edge.

your fine you can not hurt cast iron pans but by drooping them you can all ways reseaon an pan soap is your worst check out on line IDOS there chapetue all around even if it's got rust you can still get them back
get it clean NO soap re oil bake ar 350-400 till baked on and you back to golden

well, if you think they are already ruined as long as there are no cracks, re-season them with oil on both sides, leave in oven on high for an hour, turn off, and let sit in oven until next morning when they should be totally cool.....try cooking on range at medium/low temperature setting to build up heat, then fry eggs or whatever you prefer.....taste and then you'll know if pans are still working........

I'm thinking no. I tried to re-season mine. Didn't work.
Coat with corn oil or crisco, put them in the stove, everything upside down and cook @ 450 degrees for 1 hr.
But that's with real cast iron.

You should be able to use vegatable oil to reseason your pan! Clean pan with steel wool dry completely then put oil on cloth or paper towel and wipe the inside with the oil.

yes you can reseason it yourself. Wash the pan in warm soapy water, then put on stove top to dry, warm up to two hundred degrees, coat both sides with a light coat of vegetable oil, put upside down in 400 degree oven for two hours. May smoke a little.this works well for me you can also use a outside grill with a lid 400 hundred two hours

I've always wanted cast iron cooking utensils but even bought one from a garage sale because they were so hard to find. I'm glad I went on line and found them and was certainly happy to see Walmarts prices... Thank you Walmart for such good deals. Wish we were getting your store here in Warrenton. Sorry to hear it isn't working out.

I bought this to bake quantity portions  for my husband and I. It works wonderfully.  I put a meat loaf in one side of it and potatoes in the other side of it and let it run for several hours. It is great.

Crock pot

I had to start cooking in cast iron cookware, because my iron is low.  I rather do this compared to taking the pill.  The cookware is more than I expected, and I am very pleased.  The key to cast iron is that one must always keep it greased or oiled so that no rust can appear.

Country Cookware full of memories!

This item has the best price and value anywhere, and it's the real thing. Thinking about purchasing another set thanks to it being such a great value. The authenticity is definitely a plus.

What's not to love?

I really like the compact stacking ability and I gave 4 stars only because the was a slight indentation in the bottom of the deep fryer it looks like a fingertip.

Disappointed that these "scrape" so easily. I took them out of the box and stacked them. When I went to move them later, I noticed silver showing where they had scraped together when stacking. Starting to question whether they are truly cast iron as I have never had this happen with my other cast iron.

Real cast iron?

Walmart was quick to ship, thats why I shop so much from walmart.com. However, the set i ordered was thin, had jagged edges and was flawed in several areas. The box was damaged, and pieces were missing out of it too. There was rust on it, and im not sure why it was shipped in such a bad condition. When i called Stansport, they wouldnt help me, they told me i needed to contact the store i bought the set from. With my experience from purchasing an off-brand, i am not interested in taking my chances again. Ide rather pay a little more for the Lodge brand and get quality made right here in USA than get a deal on a sub-standard product made elsewhere. Having said all that, Walmart kept up their standard of quality customer service and promptly refunded me with no problem.

Great set idea, but improvements are needed...

I previously ordered some cast iron cookware that was made by Lodge. It is of much better quality. The cooking surface is smooth where as the cooking surface the Stansport Pre Seasoned Cast Iron cookware is rough. Tells me they have poorer casting techniques. I would recommend Lodge but not Stansport.

Not the quality I expected.

Some time back I was looking for alternative products to use instead of using my vintage cast iron collection. The price was right, the products were sturdy, but the items appeared unrefined and crude. I had to return the items. These items are sturdy and should give lasting service for anybody needing basic cooking vessels with a minimal investment. I suggest purchasing better USA or imported alternatives for a few dollars more.

Returned it.

It was cheap, with free store to home shipping. The old saying, "You get what you pay for" applies to this item. I bought it as a starter gift set for a young couple, luckily they have a camper as I am sure this is the only place to use this. I would not use it in my daily home cooking. It is a campers set. For home use, spend the extra and buy the Lodge, or look through goodwill for the older wagner items. The vintage Wagner seems to be the best for home cooking. "Like grandma had". In fact, it is very very rough on the bottoms and looks as if most anything a person would cook in it would stick. I will be taking it back and getting the couple a Lodge set that can be used for camping or the house.
