Thanks for all the answers. I also contacted Slime and they said that the cover was on the original design but people were loosing it. The cord and the hose stay inside anyway. So, Slime came up with the solution: they do not provide the covers anymore.

I've had other small compressors like this from different brands and they also don't have a cover there. Just some hole that's supposed to hold everything. The only think it won't hold is the adapters because they'll fly out.

As long as you only need a couple of pounds of air here and there, this inflator is a great gadget to have in your car. I got one for my car and one for my wife's SUV. They are small, lightweight and easy to use, and since we live kind of out in the middle of nowhere, these inflators are a great safety and security feature as well, especially for use at night.

excellent to have as back up

I really love the convenience of this Portable tire inflator. Before I had this item I would have to drive to the store and put in at least 4 quarters to pump air into my tires. If I skipped doing so I would end up paying for it in poor gas mileage in my cars and truck. It's a little noisy but not as loud as ones I've had in the past. it will pay for itself over time depending on how many cars you have to fill with air. Mine works as advertised in the catalog.

Very good air compressor that saves you money

I watched someone blow there's up and ruin there lighter ignition by having his car running while using this product , so " never ever turn or have your car running " while this is connected to any part of your vehicle ..

Learning by his mistakes , mine has worked and lasted well over 5 years now ... I always let it cool down about half way through and mine still works till this day ... it has been a life saver in emergencies with the slow leak I have .. and a neighbor using it to fill her low tire too ..

My only tips are to let it cool down about half way through filling up your tire , never have your car running and keep in a dry safe place ..

Still going after 5 years

I've been using it almost everyday for the last 2 weeks and is working great. I also like the size and the separate switch for the light. Guage is easy to read and comes with different adapters. A little noisy but what do want for $15? Ordered it online and had it delivered to store on the same day for free.

You can't buy a better compressor for the money

This tool has come in handy several times the past two weeks, had unexpected tire issues and it was handy to pull this out and get aired up to get to where I needed to go. The tire inflator does what it promises, it takes a while (around 7-8 minutes per tire), but that's the expected amount of time, may opt for a faster tire inflator in the future, but for now this works just fine.

Handy tool

I used this inflator on a 2004 buick century and it works fine. The built in light is is great. Only drawback is it's little loud but overall its great.

Note: The recommended tire pressure is not on side of tire. On newer vehicles its usually on the b-piller on driver side, trunk lid, behind the fuel filler door, or in your owners manual.

Not a Bad Inflator

For the price, this is a very good item. It is a bit slow filling my car tire, but I really didn't expect fast. The plug in cord isn't especially long. but it did reach my back tire to refill it. I have only used it once so far, so I can not speak for durability, but it has a warning to allow it to cool down between fills that I wouldn't ignore. The LED light was handy for sure.
