You can move around the spacers to lower the height if you want. If you want the handlebar higher, you can buy a stem riser.

This bike is solid, great for very light trail riding, and has been very reliable since I've had it.

The good: Decent Shimano Tourney Components. Tapered headtube. The shifters are crisp and clean. The color scheme is great. The price was the best selling point for me.

The bad: It's a bit heavy. No quick release in the rear. Forks are not the best.

The Best Entry Level Schwinn Mountain Bike

I bought this to convert into an ebike.  I moved my ebike kit to this frame and now I feel safer with disc brakes and a front shock.  Very happy with the quality for the price.  Looks nice too.

Pros:  front and rear disc brakes, front shock(absorbs street bumps and driveway transitions), sturdy frame, inexpensive
Cons: heavier than my smaller 26" old steel Schwinn. not important for me since I have a motor pushing it.

I received the version with the Microshift shifters. though "cheaper" this worked out better for me since it has separate brake levers which I replaced with ebike brake levers.

good frame for my ebike conversion

Only have had the bike a few days, but so far, so good. Bike is pretty simple to put together. Had to adjust the disc brakes before my first ride. Bike rode smooth and perfect for light trails. Although the seat that comes with it has memory foam in it, its still a hard seat. Typical with most big box bikes. Im 5-10 and the bike is comfortable for my size. Read several reviews prior and it seems the al comp no longer comes with the shimano shifters and derailers. No name micro shifter and derailers come with it, which seems to shift fine. Overall great bike for the price!

Good bike for the price!

Great bike for the money! The 27.5 wheels make riding a breeze! The disk breaks are a plus! Was easy to to put together. I might go with a wider seat with gel but seat on bike is not too bad has form padding!

Schwinn AL Comp mountain bike, 21 speeds, 27.5-inc

It is a beautiful bicycle and made well however the handlebar set up was backwards so when we turned it around we see that the left brake cable is too short going the wrong way and rubbing on the tire. Now we have to call a mobile bike mechanic to come fix it. So not happy about the extra cost to get that done  or  about having to wait to ride it now. Once its fixed I think it will ride very well.  All in all I  recommend buying this bike
