All Rubbermaid food containers are safe for reheating food in the microwave. They are not designed for cooking in the microwave.

Yes, they are. I've had these containers for over a year and they have been through the dishwasher many times. I just bought more for my kids and it states on the box they are dishwasher safe.

I have not had any microwave problems. Some sauces are harder to clean and will set in color stains.

Mostly, BUT......... If you over warm ( very hot) something that stains ( Like pasta/tomato sauce ) you&#39;ll never get the stain out.
I&#39;ve tried hydrogen peroxide, ammonia, very hot water soaking overnight, comet cleanser, &quot;elbow grease&quot; nothing works.

They claim to be microwave save, but they do pit if contents are over heated.  For example: if you use these containers to freeze soup or stock, when thawing in microwave the liquid (near the edge of the container) can get to temps that will damage the plastic.  I cannot recommend reheating/thawing food in this product in a microwave unless you closely monitor it.  Otherwise a great product.

Not that I have seen. We have different tomato sauces in a few of them at all times. I haven't seen any staining yet.

So far, no problem with tomato sauce stains.

i have not had any issues with staining or peeling. have washed in dishwasher and they still look new.

Most plastic containers stain very easily with any kind of heated greasy sauces, especially spaghetti sauce or any other kind of greasy red food(taco sauce, sloppy joes, etc...) particularly if it has been heated too long in the microwave(that will bake it in and will probably scorch at the level of food). The best way to insure it doesn't stain after use, is to immediately soak it in COLD WATER with some dish soap. A lot of people make the mistake of rinsing/soaking in HOT WATER, but that actually makes it stain.

Sometimes oily sauces will stain the plastic but can be removed with solvents and elbow grease. But most food items are fine.

The only stains I've had problems with is, of course, spaghetti sauce, but I believe sauce stains most plastic containers. I try to store sauce in glass containers. Other than that I've never had a problem with stains from other foods.

These are great leftover containers, because they are heavy weight plastic and will last a lot longer than the thin Glad/Ziploc containers. These bases can also be put in the lower part of a dishwasher. I wouldn't do that with the lids though. Awesome that the lids snap together and to the base of the container, which makes it easier for my husband to know which lid goes with what, because it's all together in the cabinet.

Super Deal

These were replacement for our old ones. So far we love them. I have had them before, but as you know plastic ware gets dingy after a while. I love that the lids snap onto the bottoms, so I can keep them together. No more rummaging to find a lid. Even though the website tricks you into buying two sets for $20.00 (on my receipt it says I bought two $10.00 items, I guess they bundle them for the website) it is still a good deal.
