    About this item

The Remington 10" Electric Pole Saw makes gardening a lot easier and helps eliminate the need for hiring a professional cutter to deal with those pesky branch growths. This device can cut branches as high as 15 feet above the ground without the need for a ladder. The hex-shaped inner pole of this electric pole chain saw is made from aluminum for durable strength and rigidity during extended-reach operations. With a 10-inch low kickback and chain, this saw provides you with a safe and comfortable working experience. This outer pole is made from fiberglass, which is meant to last for years. The head of the Remington pole saw can be removed easily from the pole itself and can be used separately as a handheld device. The adjustable pole also has a flip lever to make it lock easily. The trigger lock-off mechanism prevents accidental starting, making it safer to use.

I live in San Jose which at one point in history was filled with orchards! I have an orange tree, and a n Apricot tree. They both need trimming and it used to be a hassle with the old method of a ladder and trimmers! This tool cut my time in half and no ladder was needed!

The saw far outperformed my expectations. One problem though, the chain was installed backwards at the factory (cutting edge facing back) so if you buy one be sure to check this. Just a little monster of a saw!

    • It's a 10" saw, so 8" is about as much as you should cut safely. As the limb size approaches the size of the bar the chance of kickback increases.

    • If you know what you are doing & being very careful. there is no limit to the size. it will just take a long time to make many cuts & rest the motor. The key is proper cutting angles.

    • Well it says not recommended for larger than 6" But that being said I have cut branches 12" in diameter and trees 14" in diameter with no problems. The motor says 8 amp which is the same as a smaller table saw, it has a strong little motor for the price. I have had mine for 4+ years and love it, its lite and works with Or without the pole making it versatile for cutting branches that are on the ground.

    • If you were to use the saw without the pole you could cut through an eight inch diameter log with ease! But with the saw on the pole I would not recommend going through anything thicker than four to five inches in diameter tops! Reason being is at that thickness the branch is usually over ten feet long and heavy, at this length you could easily get knocked down! Be careful not to cut through your extension cord and don't get knocked off of your ladder, if you use one! Always wear a hardhat when using this product! For ten to twenty bucks more you could get a battery operated one which would probably please you better! Gas I am sure is the best kind but it will cost you five times the price!

    • Manual rather than automatic oilier....Also!...You can find a 10" replacement chain at most major home supply stores for $12.00. use the proper amount of chainsaw oil while using it, & make the proper angle cuts. so the chain does NOT get squashed while in use.....don't forget to clean the sap after using it. spray WD-40 on the chain for storage. for paets go to http://www.mtdparts.com/ enter your model number and search for the part you need or http://partsfor.com/remington.html or partsfor.com/remington.html‎

    • Push button on top of oil filler cap. Details are probably in the instructions; but, I missed it too. When I adjusted the chain for the first time I noticed the lack of oil. When I removed the cap I realized the button was there.

    • It has a bulb on top of the saw, and you push it just like the primer bulb on most lawn mowers.
