I have not spilled anything on it yet, so I can't speak to that.I ordered the full size and it fits nicely on the bed, it is soft materials. Rated 4 out of 5 by momoftweenwithoneontheway Excellent Mattress Pad for price & no noise I bought this to go on my sons brand new mattress & with his brand new bed in a bag set that we also ordered through Walmart.com, this mattress pad is great it is quiet, it adds a little more cushion to the mattress but there is no plastic type covering or anything like that where it makes noise when you climb in or out of bed etc this point was extremeley important to me as my son is in his preteen years & tends to become embarrased easliy also he does not have any type of bed wetting issue I actually got it to protect it from drinks etc when he has sleepovers with his best friend every other weekend and they are in there living it up playing video games guitar hero, rock band etc they can get pretty lively!! Anyways this has worked out perfect we had our first spill tonight actually and it worked perfectly it protected the mattress which again was expensive & I want to protect the investement this is a great way to do just that at a practical price, highly recommend this product 09/26/2011

I have personally slept on it to test it out and the mattress pad is soft, does not make noise, does not make me hot, stays in place and fits well on a thick mattress. It is an incredible value! I did my research and I am happy with my purchase. There have been no accidents yet, so I can't say how waterproof it is yet, but overall, I would recommend this mattress pad. It also washes and dries nicely. 09/12/2011
