Step 1
Select a doorway that has border trim around it and ensure that the ceiling is high enough to clear your head when you are at the top position of a pullup.
Step 2
Push the pointed end of the J-bracket that comes with your pullup bar over the doorway molding and ensure that it fits properly and doesn't wobble. Keep your feet planted on the ground and pull firmly on the bar to ensure that it's secure. Some pullup bars use J-brackets that are not simply hooked over the doorway molding and must be screwed into studs around the doorway. For these types of pullup bars, continue on to the following steps.

Step 3
Hold a ruler flush over the top of the doorway's top trim and draw a line that extends beyond each side of the door. Hold down the power button on the stud finder and run it over each of the lines you just drew. The stud finder beeps and a light illuminates when a stud is located. Mark each stud with a pencil.
Step 4
Position a J-bracket onto each of the lines to match up the bottom of each bracket to the line. Mark the location of each of the mounting screws in the bracket on the wall. Remove the brackets from the wall and drill out each hole. Put the brackets back in place, insert the mounting screws and use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the mounting screws through the brackets until they are secured without movement. The brackets and the mounting screws come with your doorway pullup bar.
Step 5
Hold the pullup bar in the center of the doorway positioned so the rear horizontal beam is facing up. Raise the pullup bar so the rear horizontal beam rests over the brackets and top of the door trim. Keep your feet planted on the ground and pull firmly on the bar to ensure that it's secure.

A small tool is included. No extra tool is required.

No tools necessary. You just hang it from the plastic bar on the top of the door frame, on the side where the door opens into, and the horizontal bar that you pull up on rests on the opposite side of the frame. Your own body weight puts pressure on it and keeps it in place. I wouldn't recommend swinging on it though or it might take the pressure off and knock it loose and you'll end up on the ground lol

How is it installed in a doorway - what tools do you need?

Yes it comes with a box and a poster with plenty of techniques.

All parts come in a box. You need to do some installation before it can be used. All necessary screws/nuts and a small tool are included. No extra tool is required.

Yup. It comes in the box with the screws and a cheap little screw driver/wrench to tighten them down. It also comes with a fold out poster workout guide along with the assembly instructions.

This attaches perfectly in my doorway. It is very sturdy and exactly what I needed to stretch out my shoulder that is impinged.

I am approx 190lbs and see no problem with the durability or quality of this product. I have only used it for a few weeks but working as advertised so far.

Great at home work out tool!

My husband and I started a p90x workout program which requires a pullupbar. This one works very well in our living room door frame. The many handle options work perfect but I do with the foam was on the entire bar since my hands need to be a bit closer together. My husband is a bit bigger and this holds his weight just fine.

I was happy that I didn't need any tools to put this together. It seems stable, and I like the different exercises pictured on the poster that comes with it.

Little bit longer than I expected, but it fits a standard door perfectly. Comes with a workout guide in poster form. Assembly was straight forward and simple. Padding seems durable enough so it probably won't tear or break down for a while, especially since I'm light. Now all I need to do is make sure I actually use it regularly.

Great bar for cheap

The product is good for anyone below 250 lb. it's a perfect gift for those who care about their body and fitness. It's very easily accommodated and versatile in different workouts and training that u can do with it. Lastly I thought the price was inexpensive too for what it offers.

Great gift for a friend

I've perviously purchased this product for a sibling  (from a different store) and they loved it! I even used it when visiting their home. The product it very durable and does what it says. I received my package a day early so, I was excited to put it together but to my surprise, there are a couple  bolts missing from the box. I hope that customer service would be willing to give me bolts at minimum to help push this to a 5-Star Rating.

Only one thing that's preventing a 5-Star Rating

We were excited to get this until we took everything out and discovered there were no screws! FAIL! Loved that it came with a workout poster giving examples of how to use it.

No screws for assembly!!!

I like the product but I noticed that the middle part of the bar is already showing signs of bending inward. It states it holds up to 250 lbs. I weigh 150lbs so I'm not sure how much it will hold before it bends inward more or breaks

Disappointed in quality

Cheaply made. Some of the parts needed were slightly different, but it was still workable.  Unfortunately, the bolts stripped while putting it together.  I couldn't get it apart and adjust it.  I returned it yesterday.
