I have natural mixed-ethnic hair. Mine isn't woolly--it's a little finer than that--but it's difficult to straighten too.

For our type of hair, I suggest NOT using shampoo. Shampoos contain sulfates that dry our hair out. Cleansing can be done with cleansing conditioners or with something called Low-poo or No-poo (google it). Those cleansers DO NOT have bubbles (which is a GOOD thing because the bubbles in shampoo have the sulfates that dry out hair!). They will clean your hair without making it squeaky, weak, and dry. Some shampoos are sulfate free, but make sure they say it in the label and ingredients.

Find a conditioner that moisturizes your type of hair type, which is probably a 4b (google it). Your conditioner should be as THICK and moisturizing as possible.

There is not a shampoo/cond out there to straigthen your hair on the regular market. You need to see a hairstylist for that. The most popular method for hair straightening is the Brazilian Blowout.

It's really not about the shampoo and conditioner that you use but the product you put in after to help straighten. You can always use a keratin based shampoo and conditioner or John Frieda for frizz to help. But professional silk oil will help keep the frizz out when you straighten and leave your hair shiny and smooth.

Love this smoothing serum!  I have used this for years and always bought it in-store, however it is no longer on the shelf and appears to be sold out online. If they don't restock it soon, I will be forced to buy it on amazon.com or other online stores because they have plenty of it and at a cheaper price with free shipping. Come on Walmart, get this back in stock soon so I don't have to purchase this somewhere else.

I love this hair treatment, its the best I've found after trying many more expensive ones. I was so disappointed when it was no longer at my local Walmart. I was happy it was available online, just had to wait over a week for it.

when i first tried this product i was amazed on the quantity. i was very pleased to have seen my results after the use as well. helped to defrizze my hair, and made my hair smell good!!! i recommend this product to anyone who has frizzy hair.

I was rather disappointed in this serum. Although it has listed Silk Amino Acids, it really didn't do that much for my dry hair. Actually, I think Suave has a better conditioner for dry ends--although they recently changed the formula by adding more water.

This Silk Works helps but not as effective as other "silk" serums. Try it for yourself. I was expecting, with all the La De Dah reviews , a better product. I'll use it, but would not buy it again.
