This product has been used in my family for many years. I have 2 children that I used them with and now with my 3rd im using them again. I never had a problem with leaks, unless the liner had a hole or was put in wrong. Nipples do drip after a while but no biggie. Simple clean up. Liners can become a little exspensive but overall easier to just drop in and go. Most definatly reduces gas and reflux by a lot if all the air is squeezed out of the liner before giving it to baby. Overall, this is a great product.

I used the original drop in bottles for my oldest son which is 13y/o, and use them still for my second child which is 4mo. It has always been easy to use. Neither of my babies had or has issues with colic. I do prefer the bag liners rather than the drop ins. Although I can only get about an ounce less than the size of the bag in there; I wouldn't use anything else for the newborns!

GREAT FOR MY BABY

i chose these bottles because i'm a tad bit of a germaphobe and i liked the fact that the liners are presterilized. i had previous experience with them as well, a child i once babysat for (many moons ago) used these bottles. my baby girl has very little gas and belly problems because you squeeze all the air out of the bag before giving it to baby. when you are done, you simply toss the bag away. i then soak my nipples and rings until i wash them all together after her evening bottle. i love these bottles. i also like that if someone else is keeping my daughter, when they are done feeding her, they can just throw the liner away, and i don't end up with clabbored milk in the bottom of her bottles in the diaper bag. the only downside to these bottles for me, is that my local store doesn't have a variety of the bottles to choose from, but luckily, they always have the liners in stock! the liners are about 6.50 for 50. bottom line, less gas, less germs, less trouble = happy, healthy, safe baby and happy parents!

I have used these bottles with my last 3 kids and now with my 4th. I have never had any problems and these work well when your husband doesn't like to rinse stuff before putting them in the dishwasher - nothing gets stuck in the bottom of the bottles! Makes life easier - don't spend time scrubbing the bottom of bottles anymore! Better for the baby to be able to push the air out and a sanitized liner ready to use. Also I really like the nipple shape since I breast feed and bottle feed, easy transition.

i am wondering if you have to use a new liner for each feeding, doesn't that get expensive?

  • A. It isn't cost effective however I've found that buying the walmart brand that comes with 100 liners lasts a very long time. I don't know about you but I'm so busy with a baby it is worth spending $8 a month on liners if that means I don't have to spend 30 minutes a day washing and sterilizing bottles. With these, you only have to clean the nipples.

  • A. You know it really depends i will tell you that for me, the liners or cleaner and time friendly versus having to boil and sanitize bottles every so often. Walmart also carries an off brand variety of liners that fit well into the bottles and the cost is very affordable for me and i am a single mother of two. This system and liner is well worth it

  • A. I have 4 kids and I have always started with these bottles for the newborns bc then I only have to sanitize the nipples. But I always switch to regular bottles once they hit about 4 months because they are more practical for us, plus we have a dishwasher.

  • A. You can buy the offbrand liners at walmart, parents choice brand they are also bpa and phylate free and you get twice as many for the same price. 100 parents choice liners= 5.83, playtex brand 50 liners= 6.99.

  • A. I get the parent's choice liners, they're just the same. I use one liner a day, just rinse the bottle with the liner in it really good, or even with soapy water if it makes you feel better. It's not expensive at all in my opinion.

  • A. I dont know if walmart does this too but target has their own brand liners that says compare to playtex drop-ins on box and are cheaper than playtex. Its unsanitary to use same liners.

  • A. They are $5.83 for 50 @ Wal-Mart. I also breast feed when I am not working, so it isn't the only way he is fed, so for me it is cost efficient. I would not reuse the liner unless the feeding wasn't enough and the child was still hungry other then that i wold be concerned with bacteria.

  • A. they can become a little pricey. you can also get the playtex nurser bags instead of the dropins and you get more for your money that way. you can use both the nursers bags and the dropins.

  • A. The playtex brand are a bit pricey however at the store they sell a walmart brand both in 4oz and 8oz, they are about $8 for 100 drop ins, I had found them to work just as well as the Playtex and they last a long time.

  • A. walmart also carries a brand called parent choice which is like an off brand off playtex. The carry the liners in 4 oz and 8oz as well and they are inexpensive and fit the playtex bottles with no problem

  • A. If you are buying the Playtex brand, it does get pricey after a while. I have started using the Hy-Vee store brand liners-there are 100 liners in a box for $6.48. Saves in the long run.

  • A. They arent cheap but not too bad. Like $8 for a box of 100 8 oz where I live. Of course you could spend $8 on regular bottles and not worry abt another expense until the nipples need to be replaced.

I looked at the bottles and saw that they have solid bottoms (which means that they can hold liquid) and i wondered if there is any special reason why they need to be used with liners. Will the bottle not close properly if a liner isn't inserted?

  • A. The bottles have no bottom, they are open. I believe they are designed this way because you can squeeze the air out of the bag before feedings, which helps relieve gas in the baby.

  • A. The drop-ins bottle system requires the liners. The solid bottoms included in the nurser gift set are for breast pump use only not for feeding your baby. If the cost of the Playtex liners is too much the parent's choice liners work just as well. The only difference is they are a litlle bit thicker than the platex liners.

  • A. You ABSOLUTELY have to use liners. The bottoms you see are for the breast milk storage kit that comes with the bottles. The bottles themselves are hollow, without the top its just a tube.
