Yes, our 80/20 Natural Blend batting w/scrim is washable, either by hand or machine. There is no need to prewash before quilting. You should expect shrink in the 3-5% range.

Yes it is machine washable...but not by it's self. When it is inside the quilt, that is when it can be washed.

I don't recommend washing batting prior to use. If you must, then I recommend running a bathtub of water and putting the batting in and then hanging dry.

Once the batting is in the quilt it is totally machine washable. I wash my quilts in the washing machine in cold water and then tumble dry low.

Yes, I have used it in many kid quilts and they wash wonderfully.

Yes it is, once you quilt it into your project. It would fall apart if you washed it without quilting it.

not fluffy at all like poly, I would say fairly thin I like fairly flat quilts and have made multiple quilts with this product. It easy to sew and drapes well.

According to the package, it says &quot;cycle and dry low or flat.  I have used it in a couple of baby quilts that I have given away as gifts, s I have not washed this batting yet.

What is the loft on this Pelion 80/20 blend?

I think the 80/20 batting would be good for insulation. It would be even better (neater, more durable, better insulated) if you put the batting between the curtain fabric and a plain fabric lining. If it's left exposed, it will collect lint and not look very finished. Best of luck to you, and thank you for your question.

I used this layered between my drapery fabric and a heavyweight lining fabric when I made my insulated drapes. It works beautifully and affords a better insulation fro heat and cold than my store bought thermal drapes. A couple things though so you get good long lasting results: 1. when you wash your drapes make sure to wash in cold water and line dry to avoid the mentioned shrinking and 2. You need to tack all 3 layers together every 2 inches both side to side and down the length or the batting will lose it&#39;s shape. The pull of gravity thing. I used embroidery thread and left short lengths dangling from each tack on the drapery front side so it looked like an intentional design element. The look turned out wonderful and I&#39;ve gotten many compliments. I&#39;m making a new set for another room now and am planning to try using fusible webbing to tack to the drapery fabric.

Good for crafts

I love having batting so I'm ready to quilt at every moment.  I love this cotton batting in my quilts, washes us great and keeps you warm or cool.

Ready to quilt

I have only been making quilts for a few months. The polyester batting I was using seemed nice and helped to keep the cost of learning how to quilt manageable. Then I decided that per yard this batting was a much better deal. My first quilt using cotton batting was quite a revelation. It makes my quilts drape beautifully and seem so cuddly .  I decided polyester will never be in my future.

Great deal

I have bought several of these %26 they were great. I just opened one of the newest bolt I bought %26 it's complete crap. There are stains on it throughout the bolt %26 it's super thin, almost like netting off %26 on throughout. This is not even usable.

Great price, but beware

I have purchased this brand before and I was Very Disappointed this time because I got about half way through the roll and the batting was ripped in about 5 different places and the batting started separating. It totally ruined my plans for the quilt that I was getting ready to sandwich as a birthday gift. Something had to go wrong with this batch as it was being rolled in the factory. I tried to find a way to contact the company but had no luck! I was hoping they would try to at least replace this roll or at the very least, half of it. Very heartbreaking my gift was ruined...
