It comes with a couple, but it's really easy to make up your own. Just don't over fill or it won't shut and you will have a mess to clean up.

Some metal, but lots of plastic. The non-stick grilling surface is steel.

there is aluminum -- I did not detect "fumes" of any type

I don't know what the plates are made of, but the rest is a durable heavily coated plastic. With the exception of the drip tray it is uncoated & thinner, and the latch is a thinner piece also.

There is no Stainless Steel, cooking surface is a thin coat non-stick of Teflon I believe, outer house is a heavy gauge plastic, odorless unless you allow burn materials buildup. Cooking surface will not take very much abuse. All I all a good little product.

I like Quesadilla's a lot, but not the overpricing of $6.00 - $8.00 in the restuaraunt's, so my daughter bought me this 4 christmas, and I luv it. I can now make my own with fresh ingredients, and I can fill it as much or as little as I choose, close 2 the edge un-like the restuaraunt which is only a little in the middle. Easy cleanup while it's still warm just wipe with a damp cloth & it's ready 4 the next use. Im happy with it.....

Yes, my family and I love this quesadilla maker.  So much so, we are considering buying another one so that we can make two at once.  I make loads of taco meat when we have tacos and we use leftovers the next day for quesadillas.  This machine perfectly makes quesadillas -- browned lightly and creased for cutting.  If you overfill with cheese (my family are cheeseheads, so more is better), it will come out the sides but it crisps up and tastes delicious!  Sometimes we put so much meat/cheese in, we're unable to latch it closed, but it still cooks and crisps up fine.  Go ahead and buy it!  You'll love it, too.

Who knew this quesadilla maker was so great?!!

I bought this quesadilla maker because I had been so hungry for quesadillas and haven't been going out to eat much. I introduced my 3 grandkids to them, using this maker. They loved them so much, we had them for dinner 3 nights this week! We made salsa chicken and cheese. The extra stuffing latch was perfect for the stuffing size and there was little mess to clean up. My 10 year old granddaughter can even make these herself! We absolutely love it!
