This is a tortilla press used to make tortillas from a recipe. It does not have a heating element.

No. This is not a heater. It is used for making corn tortillas at home. You make the dough, take pieces of it and roll them into a ball. You take one ball, line the press with wax paper, and close the press. Voila, you have a nice tortilla read to be baked on a griddle.

This item is not to use on top of the stove. It press the dough to flat circle

Can you put store brought tortillas on this press to heat them up

This product is made from aluminum which is not able to rust.

I didn&#39;t get rust, no. But, do NOT put it in the dishwasher. It actually ruined it. Couldn&#39;t get it to stop shedding the silver after that. We had to buy a cast iron press because the aluminum didn&#39;t like the washer. It&#39;s a good press, but just really be careful how it gets washed. Same with cast iron, too.

Great product

I wish I had known about this before I was rolling the chapatis and tortillas by hand. Absolutely love it! It has been a great way to make the tortillas more even. Would highly recommend this, especially if you are making many.

Works like a Pro

Read reviews before getting - one review really helped - put a sheet of plastic down before you press dough - then it won't stick and very little clean up! So glad to have this - rolling out Tortillas took forever to make enough for a family!

It is great! No, I am not making perfect tortilla, but it isn't the fault of the press! I am very, very out of practice. The press is light, easy to clean , and easy to store away.

Does a good job for me

It's very light and not heavy like most of them. It makes the size of the tortillas well and equally flat all around

Small but great

I love it, I recommend it, excellent material, good finish, it is very light, easy to clean. The shipping was very fast.My tortillas are very delicious and thick that I want. i have to use two plastics one up and one down, so that the dough does not stick to the time of  pressing.
The size is fine for me it's fine I like small tortillas. the pressed tortillas measure 8 ", if you want to make larger tortillas you have to buy a larger one.

My tortilla press was delivered right on time!  Thank you very much.  It's a little more flimsy than I expected.  But it's alot like the one my mother in law had. (May she rest in peace.) Im hoping, that with practice, it will help me make her recipes easier.  Homemade tastes the best.

Homemade tastes the best

I have tried making tortillas without a press and it is definitely more time consuming. I recommend using wax paper between the dough and the press (the dough will stick to it and be a pain).  It flattens well and works the way I imagine they all do. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the handle feels a bit weak. I wouldn't be surprised if after awhile the handle snaps.  It does say not for the dishwasher, so keep that in mind.

Does its job

I bought this for my husband who use to make fresh tortillas with his grandmother. He was happy to recieve but when we started using the press the tortillas came out too small and too thick.
