It is a very heavy plastic - not cheap at all....very sturdy but lighter than if it was glass.

It's plastic, although I made powdered sugar in it, which usually scars the plastic this work bowl hasn't a scratch on it!

Got is for Christmas. Today the top fell from the cabinet and the plastic lip broke. The plastic is brittle, although all reports above are accurate. It does not scratch, but it does break.

It is electric. The round thing on top is the button (the cord is attached to this part). AWESOME product.

Hmmm confusing question!!! Rechargeable, running on batteries or plugging it into an outlet are all examples of ELECTRIC!!!! But to answer your question Yes it must be plugged into an outlet and works wonderfully.

I have the QB900B with the pitcher and bowl which is the 400 Watt model. It runs on electricity, the book says 120V, 60 Hz.

This Ninja Processor is electric and the interchageable motor fits both container sizes.

Mine came with a lid for both of the containers. I don't understand why someone said you can't do ice in this. We go through so much ice we freeze bowls and smash with hammer.Put the ice in and a cup of water , half cup of kool-aid and you pulse ,hold down few seconds and best slushie in town(better and cheaper then sonic ).

my ninja came with the lids you ask about; one for each of the 2 containers. i did not get a recipe book however that may not be the case in all boxes. hope that helps!

Thanks for your answers! I bought this blender, and it came with one instruction book with a few recipes (more online), and it did come with covers for both the pitcher and the small processor. WORKS GREAT!
Not only that, but I got it for $25 less than I could have gotten it at T****t, which would have also included shipping and handling.

It does come with the lids for storing. There is a quick start guide which includes two simple recipes.

It comes with lids, don't think there is a recipe book, only a few recipes on the instructions.

It comes with a pitcher, a prep bowl for chopping, 2 lids; one for the pitcher and one for the prep bowl, the blades and the motor. The instructions came with I think, 2 recipes. But there are quite a few recipes on Ninja's website. I would recommend taking a look at it.

It comes with two containers, two processing lids, two storage lids and the motor. Mine didn't come with a recipe book but the Internet has tons to choose from, so I wouldn't let that turn you away from this product.

Mine came with the blender, a 2 cup enterchangeable bowl. Their lids plus 2 cover lids to store and a product manual with some recipes.

I have owned several blenders none of them compared to the Ninja! My boys have snow cones in the summer and I love having smoothies. Other blenders would leave chunks of ice and couldn't make it through the frozen fruit but it's no challenge for the NINJA! I would recommend it to anyone!

Love it!

I bought this Ninja for the sole purpose of making green smoothies in the morning. The blender I previously owned was too small for blending 2 cups of spinach plus a ton of fruits and veggies. The 48 oz pitcher is made out of plastic, but it holds plenty of ingredients and is dishwasher safe. It's easy to assemble and is not very loud. It produces smooth, chunk-free smoothies and I am very pleased with it. I have yet to use it as a food processor but I'm sure it wil work just as well.

I love this thing. I have a vitamin as well but prefer to use this for my every day smoothies. It's held up great and I'm so impressed with it.

I use this 5-6 times a week for two years and it's still awesome.

Bought this to make frozen drinks, smoothues, shakes...any sort of cold beverage. I was amazed at how smooth it blended the ice. No more struggles with my old blender with 10 different buttons. One button, very easy to use and I get great results every time!!!
