are there 2 separate chargers to charge in 2 locations at once?

YES. . . .radios here allows use of standard (disposeable) Alkaline batteries.

However, do NOT and I repeat do NOT = load/insert radio handsets into live (plugged in) Charging base...when you are using Alkaline batteries in these handsets. AC = Charging base is strictly for recharging the Ni-Mh battery packs included w/ this pair of two-way radios.

Can I also use disposable batteries if I have no A/C power? If so, what kind?

As long as you set all radios to the same channel, you can add as many radios as you would like and they will all work together!

Can I purchase additional sets and link them all through a 4 way conversation on the same channel?

Pros: I like the quiet  mode for being out in the wilderness and not hear the loud beeps. To have rechargeable batteries is awesome. Easy to operate.

Cons: The ear piece doesn't fit very well but it works.

Other thoughts: My wife and I drive for a large automobile dealership in Des Moines, Iowa.  We travel in separate autos and drive to large cities such as Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Monneapolisetc. It is imperaive we communicate with each other if we get separated.  The Midland GXT860 is the best radio we have used.  Excellent distance and clarity.

Great product

So far this is my fourth set of midland two way radios and by far it has gone down hill with the transmission quality. It works fine if you're using on rolling hills with no tree or buildings. These radios wouldn't go even close to a mile in the mountains. Voice quality is fair if in close range but in about a quarter to a half mile with trees in between there's a lot of static. These will be my last radios from midland.

Not as advertised on range

WHILE WORKMANSHIP, QUALITY AND OPERATIONS ARE FINE, YOU NEED AN ENGINEERING DEGREE TO TRY AND FIGURE HOW TO WORK IT! SETTING PRIVACY CODES, TRYING TO SET CHANNELS ETC. WAY TOO MUCH INVOLVED. FIND A SIMPLE TO OPERATE AND LESS FUNCTIONS UNIT JUST TO ENJOY FAST EASY COMMUNICATIONS....THIS IS WAY OVER THE TOP. i FINALLY DID MANAGE TO GET ONE TO RECIEVE, PROBABLY ACCIDENTALLY, STILL TRYING TO GET THE OTHER ON THE SAME CHANNEL AND RECEPTION.
