This coffee filter is 4 inches wide at the top and 3 inches wide at the bottom.

4 3/8" across top, 3 1/4" across bottom, 2 1/4" deep. Fits B&D, Mr.. Coffee.

top is 4" and bottom is 3.5" I also have a Hamilton beach coffee maker and another brand as well (both of my coffee makers were under $20) and this filter fits both. you just drop it in the filter basket just as if it were a paper filter. I works very nice :-)

If you machine is an 8-12 cup it will fit. Does not work on smaller machines.

What is the outside diameter of the top and bottom of this filter?

I've bought this item in the past and looked it so much that i just bought another for my camping coffee maker. great money saver and good for camping. no paper waste and coffee grounds are good for nature vegetation.

Reviews told me that this filter would better fit a 5 cup coffee maker - not true. Does not fit my 5 cup Mr. Coffee but does fit my 12 cup Mainstay. Very nice perm filter.

Well built

This is a great idea to use instead of paper liners that can sometimes fall inwards and make a mess.  Super easy to use and clean. 
Fits nicely inside the place where you would put the paper liner.

I like it

I used once to see how's  working, I noticed that the filter is not for 8 to 12 cups coffee maker machines, so, I reduced the amount of coffee, just sufficient to make 4 cups and surprisingly, the filter worked great, I love it! But, I repeat, fits perfectly,  but is too small to hold  coffee to make more than 4 cups of coffee 
However, I didn't return it, because fit perfectly in my another small coffee maker machine 
I gave 4 stars because is not for 8 to 12 cups coffee maker machines as the advertise says

I own a it's 12 cup coffee maker,  this is MAYBE 1/2 of the size of that.  I am single though and use less coffee grinds, so I just set it in the middle and it worked for me.  It does do well in the dish washer

I gave it 4 stars because I expected it would be bigger if it was universal. That's all!

It works because i'm single

we have a keurig and I had to cut off the little knobs on side of the rim. We had to take the handle off too. We were able to use it a bit easier after that.

Got it to work

i was so excited after all this positives reviews,but it definitely didn't work for me. i have a 12 black and decker coffeemaker, it's the right size .The problem is that the coffee flows with the ground. I don't know if it will gets better with the time but it's very unpleasant

disappointed

i had this for 2 days and i went to wash it out for the 2nd time and the screen material broke..so its pretty much garbage..dont buy

very upset

the mash on this filter is to open and will not brew coffee properly, resulting in very weak coffee ,because the water flows through too quickly leaving some grounds completely untouched, I found myself using twice the amount of coffee to get the same flavor i got from using paper filters.
in short disposable paper filters are much better for brewing coffee than this permanent wire filter.

Not Recommended !!!
