No it not for indoors only outside since it smokes when it cooks.

The instructions say not to use "in your trailer, tent, house, garage, or any enclosed area". I would say that this is an outdoor appliance only.

Yes I have are out on the patio unplugged of course but my patio has a roof over it. I seen on Walmart.com covers for it I brought my cover at Ollie's it's a little big but works out great I can cover the both side tables with it. Clean up it so easy and the food taste awesome. We love are grill!

I leave it out all through the nice weather and I do use a cover, but keep it unplugged.

I keep mine in my patio. I cover it with a cover made for a 30" round kettle BBQ. Make sure you unplug it and tie up the cord so you can keep the plug under the cover. My previous unit lasted 20 years before it rusted out.

Since this is electric can it really be left outdoors?

Yes, settings are l , 2 & 3 with 1 being low.

It has a rotating dial from setting 1-3. Which could be low med high but you can turn the dial in-between all of those settings.

yes it does, the low setting is labeled 1, good for keep warm up to just hot enough to smoke.

2 is faster smoking all the way up to moderate cooking speed

3 is fast cooking all the way up to its max of searing for any meats, especially if you adjust the element to nearly touching the rack in the front half

I barbeque occasionally and looked for a unit that is convenient and easy to use and maintain. I had a similar unit (same manufacturer) for 20 years and it finally rusted out, so I replaced it with this purchase.

I can plug it in and start barbequing right away - no need to light the charcoals and empty the ash afterwards. I don't need to keep an eye of the propane tank or worry that it might run out in the middle of my barbeque either. I had an electric rotisserie with my old unit which I kept and can use with this new replacement. It is perfect for cornish hen, etc.

I liked this so much I bought one for my girlfriend as a house warming gift.

love this grill had one before, particularly like fact made in good ole USA and sounds like family owned. researched buying just heating element or only the top portion. Better off buying the entire grill. A little effort putting together. The only thing i found negative was the reflector pan not staying on the heating element, had to improvise (wired pan to element) 9 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I wanted a simple electric BBQ and this is it. It took about 40 minutes to put together. Just follow the instructions. I was a little disappointed with the drip tray so I followed anothers advise and did not use it. I just put foil along the bottom. It works fine and captures the drippings. Just remove the foil every 2 time and put a new piece down. It's a nice unit. A good design. BBQ with the lid closed to hold the heat.

Since there is not a large selection of electric outdoor grills available, I decided that this model seemed like the right choice. It no longer seems, but was the right choice. Grill's temperature is right for burgers, fish, vegetables. And is the right size for a condominiums deck or patio.

Perfect size, and ability

Without a doubt! Best grill ever!  This is the 2nd one I have owned. The first worked for years before losing the ghost..element burned out. Little did I know that I could have bought another element directly from Meco at the time. Ugh!  The first grill was given to me and didn't include the owners manual so I didn't know about the ability to order parts.  My new grill works great! Cooks food evenly, easy to use and I really like to ability to control temperature while cooking.  I love this grill!

It grills well. Never used an electric grill before. It is flimsier than expected but should hold up if we don't move it around too much.

I have found thinking of it as "broiling upside down" and outside helps me manage the grilling best. It's nice to have the "cooking guide" with settings for various items. Although, who could image that it would not include hot dogs or bratwurst?!!? What's up with that?

It cooks with the heating element very close to the food so it can flare up into flames with high oil marinades (and juices from bratwurst).

It would have been nice if we had figured out it could be used to rotisserie as we might have considered the more complete system for our initial purchase.

Worth the price.

Our condo complex made everyone get rid of their gas/charcoal grills due to state fire laws. Needless to say we missed grilling. Someone in our complex had this very grill on their balcony.

This isn't a bad alternative. We cooked a 1" thick steak on it. The flavor was good and the steak cooked up just the way we like. It was tender and juicy.

It wasn't too difficult to put together. My husband and I did it in about 1/2 hour.

Be prepared, it does take a little longer to cook than on a regular grill. Other than that, this is a good product for the price.

Good Alternative

I've only used it twice but from the first time I knew this grill so great! The food taste awesome but the second time I used it on the bottom front a small area went from the color red to orange. A piece of the plastic control knob where the sticker showing the position where to cook what broke off. I just brought the grill about 2 weeks ago and I did purchase the 2 yr warranty I'm returning the grill for a replacement. You can't go wrong buying this grill it's great for apartments patio where you can't have gas or charcoal grills. The food taste really great and the cook time is fast. I can't wait to get my replacement grill and get to cooking.
