This is only season 1. But all three are available at Walmart. They are sold separately.

This is for the original season 1 of Downton Abbey. There are 3 discs in the package with a couple of episodes per disk. The other packages will indicate whether they are season 2 or 3 along the top of the package.

Is this Season 1 or 2 of Downtown Abbey or both?

First let me say that buying these DVDs will be safe and will play in your player as any other DVD does. If you want an explanation read further.

There are 6 regions, or zones (7 if you include zone 0), around the globe and DVDs sold in each of those zones will play in DVD players for that zone and not in other players from different zones. The reason for this is primarily to stop pirating of DVDs. If a person wants to order DVDs from other zones they can purchase players that will play DVDs from any zone for a slightly higher price than a regular player.

Most discs have a built in lock-out code that only allows them to be played in units from the same region. Older movies, cartoons and educational materials normally do not have the lock-out code and can be played in any machine, these are considered to be "Zone 0".

Playing movies from other zones in a laptop can also be a problem as DVD players on computers are limited in the number of times they can cross zones and will actually lock you out from your own legally bought machine if that number is exceeded.

However, these DVDs "Masterpiece Classic: Downton Abbey", can be played in any player from North America (Zone 1) even though the programming originated in the United Kingdom (Zone 2). After all it is the DVDs themselves that have the lock-out code and has nothing to do with the information on them. You can buy DVDs from Wal-Mart with no concerns about them playing, they will all be coded for North America.

The UK version is simply an un-edited version of the program. Due to the time constraints of American television, the program needed to be edited for time. I purchased the UK version and it works perfectly on my HP laptop and my DVD player. Go ahead and get it!

The UK version relates to the sceens, sounds and dialect, not the DVD or Bluray formatting. It plays very well and you will love it. I am absolutly hooked on the show.

why do some say the UK version won't play in the US?

Yes there are subtitles. However (and most unusual) the subtitles are on by default. You need to go to the setup menu and turn them off.

Downton Abbey is a wonderful drama about the nobility at the turn of the 20th century. The visuals are grand beyond belief and the characters are superbly portrayed. All the actors are in peak form, especially Maggie Smith, who plays the Dowager Countess of Grantham. Her quips are razor-sharp! I whole heatedly recommend this drama to anyone who appreciates expert story telling.

A wonderful view of a more noble time.

Downton Abbey is an excellent series, very well written and acted. I find it extremely satisfying to watch. I especially enjoy the history of the setting at Highclere Castle and the caracters, upstairs and down. I had not seen Series I and was happy to find it at Walmart online.

I LOVED the entire DVD. The story lines and characters were captivating. The actors were great (they do not over-act), the makeup and wardrobe is perfect, the story line correlates with history and the main families are really good people. I am hooked on the Abbey. I loved it so much that I purchased season 2 and 3. My hubby even liked it. He wont tell anyone however.

I strongly recommend this product to anyone who loves the downton abbey series. This set is a great way to catch up on the drama if you missed some of the first episodes.

If you like "period" drama, you will LOVE these DVD's. The daily running of an English mansion amidst all the drama of the family and the staff. It starts in the early 20th century with the sinking of the Titanic and goes on from there. I own all 3 of the seasons and highly recommend them all. The transaction was easy and I got my shipment though regular mail and it was only about 1 weeks wait.

Downton Abbey

the acting is wonderful and the clothes and scenery is excellent. I like how the story unfolds and how everything intertwines. All the plots and intrigue upstairs and down. I will be watching many times so I do not miss a single thing. Highly recommended.

So glad I ordered this. I had seen the 2nd & 3rd season on PBS. Now I've seen the first & it all comes together. Love this dvd, I can watch it over & over. Love the extras! It seems more like a movie, than a tv series. I guess, I enoy it so much more than any of today's movies!

Excellent series

This Downton Abbey DVD is great and at a reasonable price. It was a
present so I don't have an opinion on the product but I know they like
it a lot! Everything about the experience I loved, especially that I
could track my order. My only concern is that the shipping date was a
Friday but it came the following Monday. I don't know if they got the
date wrong or if there was just a delay. Overall, I would recommend
the Walmart online services to buy a DVD.

Wonderful Product!

in had the Blu Ray version but my player would not play it right for some unknown reason now i got the DVD version  if you get the Blu-ray version, be sure it will  play  them OK,  don't Buy    LG Players  they don't work  at least the one i had did not and it would not play my old DVDs and i did get my money back
