Not sure the top temp. it can reach, but no matter what you put it on it does NOT maintain it. It turns off mid-way for some reason and comes on minutes later.

The burner can get red hot.  Assuming the burners are steel wrapped nichrome, steel is red hot at about 600C.  The temperature of something sitting on the burner would depend on the size of the item and how rapidly it radiates/loses heat into the surrounding environment.

No, this item wouldn't work in Europe with a 220-volt outlet.

Love it! Can actually be able to use a stove top burner instead of using a microwave. My husband and I remodeling our kitchen floor. Money well spent.

I bought this for a kitchen remodel as temporary stove. It worked really well for this purpose. I was able to actually cook with it. Ordering it online for store pickup was a breeze. I ordered it the night before and Walmart had it ready when I got there the next day. Another great shopping experience!

Worked well

I have to say, this was a 10$ well spent, i use this on a daily basis at work to cook my lunches, mostly spaghetti.  Like many other stated, it turns off on it's own for safety reasons but turns back on shortly after so it doesn't really affect my cooking.  If it breaks down, i'll just buy another one, it's just 10$

Does the job

This burner is awesome for the price.  A lot of people complain about it cutting off, but what it is actually doing is when it reaches a particular heat, it scales back in which the light will cut off.  But it will cut back on when the temp falls too low.  Very nice for the price.

Not too bad for the price

I absolutely live this burner ! It heats up sooo fast, and its small so it doesnt take up any space. It turns off once in a while to maintain its temperature, but then it turns on again. Very happy with my purchase. 10/10

GREAT BURNER!!

Itâs working well for me! Read reviews that it doesnât boil water hot enough for spaghetti; thatâs false! I put the lid on while in Max; water began to boil in about 30 minutes. Iâm a truck driver and this has been a godsend along with my electric skillet, microwave and crockpot!

There's a reason this is only 6 bucks. It will stay on for 5 minutes then time out over and over. If you just want to make an omelet or heat a moka pot it will work fine. the numbers on the dial mean nothing tho.
 It says right in the manual:
 "This unit is intended for gently boiling water and is not intended to braise, brown, or fry foods. Use only for simmering or warming"  
  It has been my experience with this product that it won't even boil anything longer than about 5 minutes so don't get pasta started. It is not a full boil either.....just a little boil. For 6 bucks it's worth to keep on hand but not for actually really cooking anything.

I bought this burner because one of my electric burners died.  This "So called" burner couldn't even boil water.  What is it good for???  NOTHING.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

Not was i was hoping for. It barely gets hot and not hot enough to cook fish!
It would not cook the fish to the right temperature.
