It is possible that this set rusts at the grooves of the design. However, avoiding lemon dish soap should prevent this from happening. Try to avoid using citrus dishwasher detergent, as well. You could always buy this set and return it if the quality ends up being less than you hoped for! :)

I hand wash mine and have not had any rust issues. I saw that same review and I noticed it happened when they were put in a dishwasher. If you use a dishwasher I immediately take them and dry them completely if needed.

I have seen reviews that these rust. Is this a possibility?  I know they are inexpensive but do not want a set that will rust.

What is the nickel content- 18/10, 18/0, etc?

It's way lighter than my previous silverware. At first I was disappointed, but that didn't last long. The forks are great for jabbing sweet potatoes so they don't explode in the microwave, and for fluffing eggs I add to brownie mix. 

Very glad I bought this set. They are pleasant to look at, too.

This set is heavier than I expected for the money.  Very pretty set.

The weight is nice. We hand wash them as we don't have a dishwasher. They are pretty and sturdy. They don't feel or look inexpensive. Plan to buy a second set.

I purchased this set for a birthday gift for my mother and had it shipped directly.  She said it is absolutely beautiful and she loves it!  Great quality at a great price!

Nice quality for the price. The weight of it is good, not too light and not too heavy. I love the simple design. Good for everyday use. If you're looking for something fancy or really elegant for a special occasion, you may want to spend more money but this is for everyday use.

I am impressed by the quality for such an inexpensive set. I puchased 2 sets because  of a previous review that the spoons did not bend when dishing out icecream. Very true. I really like the design which looks very modern and not cheesy. Thanks Walmart for providing quality with cost effectivness.

Great flatware

This flatware is decent in quality and appearance for the low price. I did not want to spend over a certain amount. So far so good.

Colonial flatware decent for price

I took a chance and purchased Mainstays Colonial 20 Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set because it was inexpensive and the photos of the item on the Walmart.com site showed a nice set of flatware.  Not true.  When the item arrived it looked and felt very cheap, like dollar store cheap.   This item CLAIMS to be stainless steel but it felt like TIN or cheap Aluminum!  Very thin flatware, which would bend easily.  Even though I didn't used the item, I could see that it would most likely show signs of rust after usage and cleanings.   I would not give this item as a gift to someone not even for college students in their dormitories or apartment.   In the Walmart stores, on ground, the Housewares sections used to have bins full of Mainstays loose flatware (spoons, knives, forks etc.,) for purchase.  Those loose silverware were better quality than this Mainstays Colonial 20 Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set which is weird because they are from the same brand name.  You'd be better off  spending a little more $$$ and purchasing the Cambridge or Better Homes and Gardens brand.  Any brand but Mainstays, the quality of their flatware is no longer any good.

NOT EVEN WORTH THE CHEAP PRICE!!!
