After washing dry very well and grease it.

While the pan is still hot scrub the pan w/ a nylon brush and water only. Do not use any soap. If anything still sticks use a spatula to scrape any stuck material off. After you wash your pan clean put it back on the burner for 30-60 seconds to reheat the pan until it is warm. This will allow the excess moisture to quickly evaporate keeping the pan from rusting.

First wash with light soap,water on a wash rag.Don't, I mean don't use a Scott bright pad!!,dry with towel,then put a little vegetable oil on a paper towel wipe down unit.

Moisture will cause your griddle to rust. Keep it dry to prevent rusting.
If you do Nothing Else do this:
Hand wash. Dry immediately—even before first use.
Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every wash.
How much oil? Enough to restore the sheen, without being “sticky”.
Why? To keep the iron “seasoned” and protected from moisture.

You can clean it with dish soap and a scotch brite pad if needed. Always wipe with cooking oil before storing.

I love the fact that its already seasoned, you could use it right away. Cleaning is easy. It's heavy, as you would expect of cast iron, so I leave it on my stovetop all the time. I haven't grilled on it yet, but used the smooth part to make lots of pancakes, and grilled cheese. My pancakes actually come out better. Tried to make scrambled eggs on it, but it was a bit messy. I blame that on my inexperience in using a flat griddle. Also, my double burners are different sizes, so I have to manipulate the flame a bit. Other than that, I love this item.

Versatile piece of cookware!

I left the griddle on the stove until it got very hot before I cooked steaks and they looked great.  The cast iron distributes the heat evenly on the surface so the meat cook at the same rate on any part of the griddle. In my case I have to be careful because I have a glass-ceramic smooth cook top and the griddle slides a bit when you try to move or turn the meat. I have to be very careful so that the surface does not get scratched. I think this would be great on a gas stove.

Cooks well and even.

After the purchase of a new Gas Range, I wanted the Griddle for the center burner. Thier version would have cost $170.00, Plus S/H an Tax. This version fit right in place and has two options to cook with and only 1/3 the cost or less. In addition, I didn't have to wait 6-8 weeks for their version to come from a foregin manafacture, Wal-Marts' version was made over in TN and here in less time tan stated on the order form. Best deal over all. The only differance was the color match between my units and the one from Lodge.

This is better than the Factory version offered.

I absolutely love this griddle. I use it at least twice a week for restaurant quality pancakes and french toast. It's cast iron so it really doesn't get any better. You can make 6 pancakes at the same time but I often just just make three at a time to allow room for flipping. I have never used the grill side.

I purchased the griddle when it was on sale for $29.97 and it was a penny well spent.  I would re-purchase the griddle at regular price if necessary.  I used the griddle to cook eggs and grilled cheese so far.  The food did not stick and the griddle was easy to clean.  I just store it on top of my stove.

Love it!

This is the perfect size to go over to burners on my stove, or the center long burner. The weight of it is great and it heats up nicely for quesadillas and reheating pizza leftovers. I would highly recommend it
