I also have a glass top stove and people have said not to use cast iron and I disagree. It's fine as long as you don't move the pan around more than necessary. When I first got it I coated it with coconut oil (any oil will work) and let it sit for a few days. I then used a paper towel to remove any excess oil. My first dish was fried potatoes and onions and yes, some of the potato stuck to the pan but I turned the heat off, covered the pan and the moisture from the steam released the stuck potatoes after about 15 minutes and the potatoes were still nice and hot. Learn to use cast iron and you will forever love it like no other pan and I've had my share. I never use soap, I just let it soak and wash it with a soft cloth. Much healthier than non-stick pans and cook better than stainless steel. I use low heat and I now pan bake foods like cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. Good eatin' for sure! 05/18/2013

No fear of aluminum poisoning, no Teflon flakes in my food, and doesn't stick like stainless steel does. Cast iron stays hot too!! So no need to worry about your food getting cold while waiting for everyone to come to the table. Most people are afraid of cast iron because they think you can't clean it with soap and water. But I clean mine after every use with soap and water. The trick is to put it back on the stove to get hot enough to dry out the water. This makes it so it won't rust. Then you can store it or reuse it as much as you like - it will always be clean and ready. Obviously, the more you use it, the better the pan gets and the less likely it will be that you will ever see it rust. I love my cast iron pots and pans!! (I even have a cast iron waffle iron) 05/13/2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by GuyfromNY A good, solid skillet... I like this skillet but beware it is heavy. Cast iron tends to be that way, lol and even though it comes seasoned you will still need to season it some more and use Pam, olive oil, etc. when you cook so items (especially eggs) stick as little as possible. 04/07/2013
