It is made of a sisal rope material wrapped around a cardboard corrugate core.

mine is made of a carpet material, but the one pictured is rope.

sisal or sometimes called a rope post. Much better than carpet. I only buy nylon and sisal items for my cats. Just cleaner and safer. Carpet can hold dirt and is harder to keep clean Sisal/rope can be hosed clean and dry fast.

What material is the cratching post made of?

The frame is made of PVC. However, it is perfectly safe like the vast majority of PVC used for everyday household use. We ensure that our PVC is made phthalate and lead free. Our products are designed to be as safe as possible for both pet and owner.

I dont know much about PVC. It seems like its made out of regular black plastic. You would have to contact the company about the plastic.

Is the frame made of PVC? if so i do not want the product even in my home!

We recommend that your pet be 20lbs or less to use our Kitty City items safely.

One of my cats goes around 27lbs and she does fine on the top level. When Monday rolls around so does she.

I have some really big cats, including a 19-pound monster kitty and his 13-pound mama, and they totally fit and LOVE this toy.

she ius a good sized cat about 15 lbs. she got in it right away. it is made well and a bargain I think..she loves her hideaway. she has not jumped on the top of it so I don't know if the fabric would be strong enough, but it probably would, I just cant verify. she like the scratching post. the little balls are cute hanging from it but she is too adult to mess with them. she just loves a little hiding place. this works well !

This great kitty item is a fantastic treat for any furry feline kids! Not only does it provide two beds (inside and on top), but our children also love the toys! They got one of these for Halloween and a second for Christmas. Both have rarely been empty since. We highly recommend it! Five paws up!

Excellent Toy and Bed!

This was a gift for my 7 year old & her new kitten, & the kitten loves it. So much going on with the single piece, you get a lotta bang for your buck. Also works as a motivational tool for responsibility. We have a chart & so long as my daughter cares for her kitten every day (scooping litter, food, water, & petting/playing) she gets a new small toy every week & a new Kitty City addition to build-on every month!

AWESOME

My kitten LOVES this!! I was kind of worried that she wouldn't care for it but she loves playing with it! I put the blue ball hanging by her scratch post and she seems to have a ball with it! I soooo do not regret buying this!

Easy to assemble, package also had a booklet of other products that you put together with the Hideaway. I plan on purchasing them so that my 3 cats can play with each product. They are enjoying their new toy.

Kitty City Hideaway

My kitty loves this little hideaway. I accidentally ruined the first one that I bought him, so I had to by this again for him. It's great, but you definitely get what you pay for. Sometimes it'll come apart, not fall apart or down, but the plastic will come undone. I don't think I'd purchase the whole set though, because I'm afraid it might fall down!

Cute, afforable and space efficient.

She seems to like it. The more catnip, the higher the rating. But I like it too. I think they need a clip on the dangles, so we can customize it to a "toy" they like, or hate..LOL As long as they swat, I'm happy.

I would appreciate a velcro attached wall/skin. For laundering. Or replacement with wear.

also, I noticed cats like something pointy/substantial to rub their chins on, like my cd case corners.
You know, right under their eyes. One place inside the cubicle off one corner that extends out 1-1/2" should be sufficient.

Cat rating

I have two cats who both love their cat castle that I have built for them out of the Kitty City parts. One thing that I would say to others is that the parts definetly work better when combined, it makes them sturdier. Another is that my very large cats weight broke the 3 sided sleeping corner thing, it wasn't able to hold her, but the regular 4 sided ones work just fine. I would recommend this product unless maybe all of your cats are super obese.

My cats love this

My kittens are constantly knocking the object over and it comes apart. My kittens are about 8 weeks old, so wonder what shape this will be in when they get a little older? They love it though, they sleep on top and inside. They are always knocking the little toy balls off the sides but they can play with them on the floor. Wish it was a little stronger and didn't tip so easily.

Tabby loves it. He is so cute when he is inside of it and peeking out at me. He jumps in and out on top of it and play with the hanging toys. I might consider buying other parts to go with it.

I needed something for my kitten to play in.

I have two kittens about 3 month old. They constantly play with it but the constructions always falls apart. I need to return it back. Looking how easy to do it since never return anything with Walmart.
