BEST DOLL HOUSE EVER I purchased this dollhouse Christmas 2011, for my daughter who is turning 5 next month. My heart melted when I saw my daughter's excitement. My husband and 12 year old son had an easy time putting together the dollhouse. It took them a little over an hour. I have a great feeling this doll house will be around for years to come. I enjoy playing with my daughter and her doll house. Great purchase! 12/29/2011
Absolutely incredible dollhouse! I agree with others: it takes about 2.5 hours to put together (looking at the picture on the box helps a lot, instruction book alone can be confusing). However once it is assembled it is very nice! I used an advice of others and used a little shortening to help the elevator slide easier. The details are unbelievable, even the screws are color coordinated with the wall colors! The dollhouse is very versatile: it can accommodate plenty of other play sets: we have a zoo in the garage, plastic vegetables, plates, etc. on the table, all kinds of toys moved in. Great dollhouse! 12/28/2011
A beautiful house but you'll have to work for it My girlfriend and I purchased this for Christmas and it was well worth the money. The assembly required is pretty extensive so you'll want to block off at least an hour for construction. Also, the instructional photos were cryptic at times so you'll have to make some educated guesses as to which way certain pieces attach. Our girls LOVED it though and have played with it for hours each day since. Overall, we're extremely happy with this purchase. 12/28/2011
Good Product Very good product. When my wife purchased this for my granddaughters, I was not overjoyed. We paid $160+, and I was not expecting as good a product as we got. I expected thick cardboard, lots of small parts, and missing screws.Surprise, it is made of wood throughout. The parts were each numbered, and the screws/bolts were all lettered in a blister pack. It did take 3.5 hours to put together, so this is not a Christmas/Birthday Eve project.I found the instructions were very well illustrated. If I had to make a guess, I would say it was twice at the most, and the next step would tell me if I guessed correctly. Based on my experience, if I made a mistake, it was my fault and not the instructions.Give yourself lots of room to set this up. Perfect setup would be where it will sit. I am going to have to move it to my daughters house, so I am sure that will be fun. It is not light.Buy this early. The price steadily rises the closer to Christmas you get.The only tool you supply is a philips head screw driver, and scissors to get the screws/bolts out of the blister pack. There is a way to get them out through the back, but I found it easier to cut a hole and get them out of the front. Take them out of the pack as you need them, as I stated before, the pack is lettered to let you know which screw goes to each step.I am happy with the Christmas gift we bought for the granddaughters. 12/27/2011
