I know they came in short at the store (seems to be the only length I could find in my size).

I wear short/petite jeans. i.e. Levi's 16W short. These are perfect length with my tennis & casual shoes. (Straight leg doesn't bunch up)

This particular jean comes in Regular and Petite. The sizing chart is easy to understand and shows that these jeans come in all the ladies waist sizes for both lengths.

They fit perfectly at my waist. The back is elasticized and the front is a smooth waist band.

They fit just above the waist and are very comfortable.

For me, the waistband sits just barely above my belly button, which I wish was a little more *mom jeans*ish.

I'm not sure what you mean. But these fit me like all my other jeans do. I guess right on the waist. Not under the waist, and not too much above the waist. I'd say they fit like average regular jeans. I like them. They fit me comfortable. They also are good quality. I got them in black. Hope this helps.

They have a button and a zipper the panel is inside the front part of the pants they are very comfortable and move with you. They are great jeans to have and they give you that slimming look.

The elastic is only in the back. The front has a smooth waist band.

Yes they are flat front jeans. No they do not have an elastic waist. I normally prefer elastic waist jeans but I found these to be quite comfortable
