I cannot say enough about the Bicycoo BMX! Our little one was having the hardest time learning to ride on two wheels but the Joovy Bicycoo balance bikes are genius! Our youngest is even beginning to pick up up and I have no doubt that they will both be riding alongside us in no time. This is, by far, the best children's product that we currently own and my kids would certainly say the same.

"It's as easy as riding a bike". Have you ever heard that saying? Well, once you actually learn to ride a bike, it's not really that hard. But the learning process is actually kind of hard! We got Big Sis a tricycle one day, thinking it'd be fun to play outside and teach her how to ride it. Well, it was fun... But that is a very hard motor skill to try to teach. Pedaling is not easy to explain. I'm just glad we decided to try it on a tricycle, so she didn't have to work on balance as well. To this day, Big Sis *can* ride her tricycle, but it works best if she starts at the top of the driveway and gets a slight help from the tiny slant we have in the driveway. She still just isn't quite ready for the pedaling. Luckily, we found Joovy!! They are an American company that makes great baby/child products. They make strollers, carriers, high chairs, walkers, potty chairs, a tricycoo (tricycle with a handle for an adult to hold and help push/steer), a bicycoo (balance bike), and many more great products. We were sent a Bicycoo!! It came at a perfect time! Big Sis is loving learning to "ride" a bike without having to learn the pedal part. The Bicycoo is a 2-wheel bike without the pedals. It helps learn balance before adding the tricky pedaling to the mix. It comes mostly put together! All you have to do it put the front wheel in, and screw the handle bars on. There are only 6 simple parts to this bike. The body with the back wheel attached, the front wheel, the handle bars, a metal ring that goes on top on the handle bars, the screw to hold the handle bars on, and the tool to put the screw in. That's it! Simple and quick! Which comes in handy when you have an eager 2-year-old wanting to "ride her new bike"!! There is a hand break on the bike also. Helps little ones learn to use a break while biking. This is a little hard for Big Sis to do right now. He hands are just a bit too small to work the break really well. But it will help build strength in her hands, as well as doing more than one thing at a time, building motor skills. The seat is adjustable. So, as your child grows a bit, they can still ride the Bicycoo easily by just raising the seat up. It's lowest is 15 inches off the ground and it can go up to 16.25 inches off the ground. It's made of aluminum so it only weighs 7.25 pounds. Easily moved, picked up, and riden by small children. It is strong though, and can hold up to 66 pounds. The tires on the bike are refillable tube tires. Unlike the hard rubber tires on some tricycles and bicycles, this makes for good suspension and smooth riding. Joovy makes 2 different Bicycoos. They have the BicycooBMX and the Original Bicycoo. The BicycooBMX comes in Green (the one we got), Blue, and Pink. The original Bicycoo comes in Red, Black and White. There are many different color options, so you can pick one that your child will love! We never find out the sex of our babies. Ss far we have one of each, a boy and a girl. For these kinds of items, we like to get "gender neutral" colors so that all of our children can and will get great use out of them. We love this green color. It's fun and exciting, but can be for both girls and boys! If there is an item for your child's Holiday Wish List, this would be it! It's a fun learning tool/toy that every child is bound to love! We were sent the BicycooBMX as compensation for a blog post review. I was in no other way compensated. All opinions are 100% my own!

BicycooBMX Is A Must Have

My middle son was quite happy about his big boy bike comments that he made "Look it has a brake like his older brother" (code: once he really gets going, the brakes will save his shoes) & "I have a big boy bike too!" Treating our kids like the big kids that they are really helps boost their confidence levels. The Bicycoo is lightweight so kids can easily move it around. With the adjustable seat, the Bicycoo can grow with our middle son and be adjusted for our youngest son who is going to start learning to ride very soon.

The Joovy BicycooBMX balance bike was everything that I was looking for and more. After checking out many balance bike options both online and at brick and mortar stores. Some were heavy and some were made of wood. Some had plastic tires and some had no brakes. None of them had all the features that I wanted or felt would be best for my daughter, until I found the BicycooBMX. The Joovy BicycooBMX was lightweight (only 7.25lbs) making it easy for my daughter to maneuver it around. It has rubber tires like a real bike and they can be refilled with air whenever they are low (unlike formed plastic tires that wear out and have to be replaced). It was super easy to assemble, even for me and I can be assembly challenged, taking me only about 5 minutes. My only mistake in picking the BicycooBMX balance bike was that I thought she would love the pink one but her first comment was maybe next time I can can get a blue one. Silly me, I forgot her favorite color was blue now and not pink. Having an adjustable seat was important for us because she is tall for her age. With her being tall, we found that stationary seats were not a good fit for her, the adjustable seat will allow proper fit and it will grow with her. The handbrake was also a must for me. Most balance bikes rely on foot pedal stopping power, the BicycooBMX has a hand brake that is just like those of a full size bike. It is also a shoe saver! Over all we love the Joovy BicycooBMX balance bike, it was exactly what we were looking for in a beginner bike (even if it is pink and not blue!) Who knows, next week her favorite color will be green!

All the right features and more!

After 3 months of weekend use, our toddler has improved to the point where he no longer prefers his tricycle, and his riding speed requires me to ride a scooter alongside to keep up. He loves the bike. It gives a nice smooth ride, and my son enjoys its light weight; he was proud to be able to carry it up stairs. There are some negatives though. The handbrake is a bit too stiff for little hands. And the BMX handgrips are almost too narrow even for toddler hands (the GT grips are better). The biggest negative is the seat post. It's so short that it hardly qualifies as "adjustable". Our toddler is tall for his age. We exchanged our GT for a BMX just because the seat goes slightly higher, but not by much. This lack of height makes the bike too small for many kids over 4 years old, in my opinion. Oddly, older model Joovy bikes had a taller seat post (I have a picture of one with a seat post showing at least 4 inches of travel). Please bring back the taller seat post! I'd gladly buy one if Joovy would just sell them.
