Going from the stock filter that came with my Intex 15' round pool to this filter was a big improvement. However if your pool is very dirty, like mine was, you're going to have to backwash the sand atleast 3-4 times a day until clean. I guess my expectations were slightly elevated now that the filter has been working for a week. I can truly see it does make a difference with the sand.
You should buy this filter with the pool and save the headaches of an inadequate filtration system.

Good beginner filter for the money.

Easy set up and it connected up with the hoses that i already had on my Intek pool.  Care and cleaning is less than the old cartridge type filter. Would highly recommend this as a replacement.

Pool Filter

We have a 15x42 above ground Intex pool and it was nasty brown color from our well water being so hard/rust. We had to backwash every couple of hours during the day, the first 2 days and twice the 3rd day and by the afternoon we were swimming. Love our new sand filter it does an excellent job. And btw it is crystal clear! We are so happy with it.... :)

Good price and does the job, the sand u need is #20 pool sand silica and dont go to lowes or Homedepot FOR sand its not for pools I bought mines at my local pool store at Leslies pool supplys which dont show it online they have #20 sand but they do have it in stock for $10 bucks 50lbs hope that helps u to where to buy the sand... also reccomend u but the Intex salt clorinator system to go with this sand system.

I Bought The Intex Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump To Replace The Tiny Pump That Came With My Pool And I Couldn't Be Happier. It Is Easy To Setup And Keeps My Pool Krystal Clear. You Do Have To Buy The 50lbs Of Sand For It Though But It Only Cost Me 9.00 At My Local Pool Supply Store.

Great Filter

I have this pump connected to a salt water generator. The pump works great and it has a timer! The pump came with all the conectors and hoses required to operate the pump. Setup and operating is supper easy. Manual and DVD are easy to follow.  My pool is Crystal clear! I have a Coleman metal frame 16X48 pool and I am new pool owner.

Great Pump!

We have a 16x48 Coleman pool and this hooked up perfectly. Our water stays crystal clear, and we run it on a 12 hour timer. We backwash every other day and rinse behind it. Motor is quiet and water flow is strong. Received pump in 2 days and took 50lbs of silica filter sand I got at Ace for 12.00.

The product was shipped on time and it was easy to setup with DVD that came with it. This pump will save a lot of money instead of buying the cartriages and chemicals for the generic pumps.

Make sure you watch the DVD. I bought this pump and used it on our pool that's not the same brand but after a retro fit, it works great :) the water is crystal clear and it really moves the water. I really do like this pump and filter. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a strong pump and great filter system.

I ordered the wrong filter.  So to exchange it to a third party. And return it cost over $40. They were out of the one I needed. Be careful what you order from walmrt.  It doesn't always come from their store.  I lost money on it
