Imagine: Fashion Party (Wii) 3.9 5 5 8
Not what I expected Hmm, where do I start? I bought this because I had really liked the "Designers World" Plug-n-Play and I was hoping for the same idea. I like designing clothes in bed before I go to sleep to relax, and I wanted better graphics and more options. The description sounded the same, but this game is worthless. It is a game show, and you have to make what they tell you to make and then style hair and do makeup - the way they tell you to. Its basically connect the dots - use the imaginary scissors and follow the lines. If you dont follow the lines perfectly it tells you you made a bad decision and fails you! How is that fashion design? Its more like coordination testing. Its really dumb. The "create" section lets you design clothes by yourself, but there are few options, and you don't do anything with the clothes. There are no judges or money or anything... someone please just remake Designer's World for Wii with better graphics! Don't waste your $20 on this. My 10-year old won't even play it! 01/05/2010

Kids and Tweens only (ages 7 - 14) At the beginning of the game, of course I was abit confused on what to do. Eventually I figured it out and got a better grasp of it. Sadly, after the whole tutorial (found in the actual show part of the game) I thought there lectures on what to put on the model would go away. But it never did. Through out the whole game at the bottom of the screen it kept telling me what kind of style for the pants (as in capris, shorts, etc), color, pattern, and then actually let me chose what button to put on it. This goes the same for the other necessities: hats, shirts, shoes, pantyhose, and what not. Along with the hair style and make up. What's a fashion game without designing the make up also? Well, you can't go crazy dramatic with it. Which really turned me off on that one. But when you think about it, how can a game let you go that nuts? At the end of getting your model correctly dressed, and yes, there is a time limit. You have to beat the time or else the model is half ready going down the runway. On the runway scene, you can't just sit there. You have to move the wii remote and nun-chuk when needed. Sometimes you need to move both of them to clap or have her strike a pose. This game is also compatible with the Balance board, so on the runway you can use the wii balance board. Though I think the wii remote and nun-chuk is alot better to use. After the runway, there is this weird thing of texting, you have to push buttons in a certain order on the wii remot to get a few extra points. Personally, I thought that was weird. Especially since they're giving you all the answer in the designing and dressing up department. Oh, you also have competition in this game. If you've ever saw Design Star or Project Runway or the Weakest Link, this game is abit like that. Personally I thought this game would give you more control and let you do your own designs and let you use your imagination. But it doesn't.Anyways, I would recommend this for any kid and tween with the ages between 7 - 14. They'll have a blast with it. Especially since I think this is more for beginners who are trying to get the right color and pattern down pact. 01/28/2010
