They are foam padding over plastic frame, with nice soft upholstery.

Hard to be 100% sure of construction due to the fabric cover but it definitely has some structural material besides the foam. It seems to be both sturdy and light.

It's a fabric cover with a little light padding over a plastic base. I know people get hung up on how comfortable their kids are but my kids never complain... however, i don't use this booster for long trips.

Is this seat solid foam or is it foam over plastic?

Hmmm....don't know where those numbers came from! Just bought one today. Specs are:
4" high seat, about 8" high overall
10" wide at base
13.5" wide at top of seat (angled at sides, not straight up/down)
16.5" max width (including the "arms")
14" deep at base (top slopes)

Just for comparison, I measured the Graco boosters that were at the store as well. They measured 16" wide.

Seat is 13 inches wide and about 15 inches deep.

They are approximately 14" wide across the seat, 17" wide across the arm rests, and about 15" deep. A great size for my 5 and 7 year olds.

It's a typo, it totally threw me off too. This seat is tapered meaning it's narrower in the back than in the front which helps with bucket seats. If i recall correctly, it's about 9" wide in the back and you can do a little somthing to pull in the 'wings' (see my review).

The specifications says the L x W x H is 4.03 x 4.527 x 5.01 am i reading this wrong? this can not be 4.5 inches wide. What is the width of this?

I don't know for certain but the letters change for slight things like color or pattern being different. as long as the numbers are the same you're getting the same model but with a feature/pattern change. If it's a feature change it's likely an improvement

The last 3 letters are a color or fabric code. The 0304003 is the model or style ... all products that start with this number are of the same construction. The only difference between them is the fabric cover.

What's the deal with the 3 letters at the end of the model number? I want the model #0304003DRM,

I have a 6 year old son who is 4'5 inches tall (a big kid) and Ohio just passed a booster seat law that requires children under 8 and under 4'9" inches tall must sit in a booster seat. My son didn't want to feel like a "baby" so this seat worked out perfectly! It has no restraints, and it's EXTREMELY light weight, giving him just the little 3 or 4 inch boost he needs without feeling like he's in a car seat. We love it!

Perfect for your "Big Kid"

We needed a booster to fit a really small seat area (back seat of a Carrera!) and after trying 6 different boosters, this was the winner!! The only one that would fit because the base is tapered so the footprint is smaller than others. The best part is that it was the least expensive, well made and nice looking. If you need to save space (and money), this is it!

Super Deal

I purchased this seat for my almost 4 year old daughter. She is about 38 lbs, and 39 inches tall. Manual states 30-100 lbs and 34-57 inches. We are taking a trip and did not want to bothered carrying a giant car seat through the airport. This seat cannot be beat for the price! It would be nice if walmart stocked the pink for girls. All they carry is the beige in stores. This seat is no less quality then the $20+ seats. It is very light weight, ultra plush, and the pad comes off for cleaning. This seat also features the shoulder belt guide, (the strap with the red plastic belt loop). This is pulled up behind your child's back, and the red loop is attached to your cars seat belt. This is to help position the shoulder belt portion of the seat belt at the correct spot over your child's shoulder. The seat can be used with or without this. Overall this is a great product with a great price. My daughter loves it.

great price for a great booster seat

Great booster seat for the price. Love the fabric,easy to install in car,easy to move around the car so kids can sit in a new spot or to a different car. My 4 and 6 yr old can easly move these seats from my car to Grandmas car.

Love this Booster seat.

Bought two of these for my 5 year old and 3 year old for vacation. It was cheaper to order these and have them shipped to my vacation location than to ship/bring my own seats on the plane.

The seats are of good quality and not flimsy for the price. The fabric is super soft. The arm rests are a bit low per my 5 year old and we wish it had a cupholder like most of the highback seats do.

The seatbelt positioner strap is a bit too tricky to allow my 3 1/2 year old daughter to fasten her own seatbelt properly. My 5 1/2 yr old is tall enough and doesn't need it so he can put his belt on with no problem.

Overall, it worked great for my one week vacation and plan to use them as our back up seats back home. It is a great deal for a basic seat.

Works for me!

I have a Volvo S40 and it has scooped seats in the back. We previously had a turbo booster which is a great seat, but it was too wide and blocked the seat belt. The Harmony LiteRider is a great option for those with smaller cars. My 7 year old fits perfectly in the seat and there is still enough space for him to buckle himself.

Great for a small car

I'm new to booster seats and when researching really learned a lot that i didn't know. Boosters are much different than the car seats we put younger kids in. This Harmony seat is an IIHS (insurance institute for highway safety) "Best Bet" which is ranked right up there with Britax an other more expensive seats.... this one is only $14!!!!!!

My challenge which is the same with anyone who has bucket seats in the back of their car is finding a booster that wasn't too wide (depth not an issue). Note, the Harmoney Easy Rider is much wider than this one. If you happen to have a 996 or 997 this will work for you although you may need to take the cover off, heat up the 'wings' with a blow dryer and push them in a few inches. See my pic and my 5yr old boy is so jazzed to be able to ride in Dad's sports car. Now i don't want to hear from anyone that if you have kids you're not allowed to have a little fun :) This post is for anyone who has bucket seats and can't find a solution for the kids that are big enough for a booster seat.

Best Booster - fits in 911 Porsche too

This booster seat is very cheap and serves it's purpose well - no frills, no bells & whistles - but it's great to have when the grandkids are around. We can keep them safe without spending a lot of money.

Inexpensive but very handy.

I purchased this booster due to its IIHS ratings compared to other backless booster seats; however, I did return it bc it does not have a cup holder which I knew when I purchased it ....but at the time, I didn't know this seat was available with a cup holder. The seat is very plush and comfy compared to other backless boosters that I looked at in the store but again, when I realized that I could get the same seat with a cup holder for a few extra dollars, I opted to go with Harmony Juvenile Cruz as opposed to this Harmony Juvenile Youth. By the way, the Cruz is a tad bit wider and provides more side impact coverage, which is a positive. If a cup holder is not needed, this booster is a great buy... Otherwise, consider the Cruz.

Great booster but no cup holder.

I purchased this booster to match my cars tan interior, thinking that "Beige" would be a pretty close match. Well it is definately more grey color than beige and does not come close to matching. I decided to keep it anyways because it looked and felt comfortable to me. When my 7 year old daughter sat in it she say it was soft. But, the biggest disappointment its the fact she has a hard time buckling the seatbealt now. The seat is at an angle that makes it difficult to buckle in our car. It does buckle easier for her in the third row on the bench style seat but not the 2nd row captian style seats at all.
