Thank you for your question. Cutter assembly replacement will all depend on usage of unit.

I haven't had mine long but I don't think the cutting head would need to be replaced because of the way it cuts the seal & not into the can itself. But then again I am no expert either.

We did not consider that as an option. Our opener gave up from nervous exhaustion, after 3 plus years of opening several cans of cat food daily, as well as whatever human food needed opening.

I have never had to replace the head. It does not cut the metal like a traditional opener. It opens the seam between the lid and the can.

I hope not. We have used ours for way over a year, and it still cuts easily.

I researched this before purchasing and did not see any major complaints over the long haul. But like anything in life nothing last forever. With that said, this opener will definitely out last any top opener..........

I'm not sure, I had one years ago and never replaced it, don't know what happened to it.

Haven't had this one very long, but am sure the cutting blade will need to be replaced just like the cutting wheel needs to be replaced on the standard can openers after excessive use.

I have been using mine for around six years now and I find that it cuts just as well today as the day I took it out of the box.

I am not sure since I have had mine for only a month or so however, I will say that it is so good, I would gladly purchase a whole new can opener each year if need be. There are not very many products out there that I could say that about. I am typically a cheapskate but this can opener is awesome!

No--mine is over 5 years old and has shown no signs of wear.

We bought our can opener in 2008, it was fantastic!. Just starting this year in 2019 it started to leave metal slivers around can and not cut through all the way. Looking to replace current can opener. Will buy same product though. Happy to get 10 years out of it.

Thank you for your question. This unit cuts can along the side for smooth, touchable lid. No more, sharp lid edges. The top of the can will not be sharp. The motor will not automatically stop or lift the lid when the can has opened. If the can is rotated more than one time, the can will produce metal slivers that can be sharp.

There are no sharp edges anywhere after the can has been opened, and it makes the can useful for other things the way this opener works. Neither the lid nor the can have any sharp edges.

The whole top of the can is removed and none of it is sharp.
