Works great and is definitely quieter

I was in need of a new blender that wouldn't be as noisy as my last. I have a new home (open floor plan) and a new rescue Yorkie (10 years old & toothless). The Yorkie requires her dry dog food to be ground up fine and an open floor plan had me searching for times that using the blender wouldn't disturb the household. Not only is this blender so much quieter than any I've ever owned, it's also powerful. I get the job done in half the time! Super easy to clean too! I couldn't be more pleased with this blender. Awesome Blender

I really like the Hamilton Sound Shield 950 Blender. I especially like the smoothie button, I just add my ingredients, press the button, and I get the perfect consistency every time. It also crushes ice with no problem. I will say that I don't think the sound shield does much to reduce the noise. All blenders are loud, especially when using ice and frozen fruit, so I wouldn't say it's quiet. I like the quality of the blender, very well made and sturdy. Cleaning it is a breeze, the glass blender disassembles easily into 4 parts, which makes it more convenient for a quick clean. That's definitely a selling point for me. Sturdy well made Blender

I mainly use this blender to make slushy adult beverages and smoothies. I love the large (52oz) glass blender jar. Plenty of room for ice and ingredients without spilling over. Margaritas come out so slushy that you can stand a spoon up in it. The "Smoothie" button left no ice chunks, that's really nice.

Crushes Ice Like A Pro

I've had my blender for about a week. It has already earned a permanent spot on my counter, making my other smoothie maker a backup. My first peach/blueberry smoothie was eye-rolling good. The ice and frozen fruit broke up nicely, with the sound shield effectively quieting the usual blending noise. This is a definite keeper. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

A Definite Keeper!

I had a ninja blender before this one for my daily protein shakes. I loved the blender but could not take the noise level. This blender is perfect because it comes pretty close to my ninja in terms of its ability to liquefy everything I put into my shake, and it does the job with at least 50% less noise!  Easy to use and clean too!

Much quieter than a Ninja!

This sound shield blender is very nice!!!  Much quieter and isn't a big deal to put the sheild on!!!  It makes the best smoothies and is so easy to clean!  Still experimenting to find all the ways it can cut down the work  preparation in the kitchen!!! I love it!!!!  It is good for sauces, gravy and soups too! Try it!!! Very versitile!!!

I've had this blender for about a week now and have used it almost every day.  It's a great blender for the price and does everything I want it to do.  However, the Sound Shield is very hard to lock into place and really doesn't cut down on that much noise.  I doubt I will even use it in future [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had this for 1 week
I worked great for smoothies.I have used it about 5 times.  Today it slowed down and started to smoke.
I'm so disappointed.
