It works! After having purchased a cheaper can opener that just wouldn't connect to the cans, dropped them after finishing, and would only cut in spots, I was ecstatic to try this can opener and find that it just works. It's not as loud as the old one (though the cats still come running), it's really simple to use (the old one required that I tilt the can just so and slam the cutting bar down), and it doesn't drop the 15-16 oz cans I generally open. It's really pretty and it works. Can't ask for much more than that. 10/15/2010
